Watch for signs of infection! If you spike a temp more that 101, or start vomiting....go straight to the ER. In the meantime, at least call your surgeons office and let them know what's going on. They can decide whether you need to come in. better safe than sorry! Best of luck to you

Mines in writing from my surgeon.....no pop or straws....EVER. i just feel like if we do what they say, we will be successful. I'm still struggling to get the water in, but working on it. I've gotten a lot of good ideas from these boards, and am thankful to have found them. -

New York Bariatric Group - Anyone use them??

You should never feel like you're being pushed through like a meat factory. i had a totally different experience at Cleveland Clinic. I never waited more than 5 min for my appointment. Everyone was there just for me....or at least that's how they made me feel. Everyone smiled and was friendly, and I never felt rushed.....plenty of time to ask all my questions. And they gave a lot of handouts.....all about the surgery, post op care and diet stages....lists of vitamins...and exercises. you could call them and see if they would take your prerequisites from NY....but if your having doubts....don't do it. it might be presurgical jitters, tho. Either way, I wish you the very best results. -
Why is this so hard?!?
Honeypenny replied to Shesacleverone's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Go to your local grocer and buy a $5 whole rotisserie chicken. Pick the chicken off the bone and freeze it for when you can eat it. Then boiled the carcass slowly and season to tast. i was on clear liquids for one week...and I was counting the days to full liquids, which included strained creamed soup, milk.....I was loving it! i know its hard, but you can do this.....and it will be worth it! My very best wishes to you! -
Any tips/tricks for getting all that water in?
Honeypenny posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Before surgery, I would drink unsweetened iced tea from morning to night. I've been good about giving up the tea, but just can't get this water down. Got 64 oz one day....but usually get just 30-40 oz. I have health problems, so worry about dehydration. My best day, I drank 1 oz every 15 min....but still didn't get to 64! pray tell....how do you do it? -

Thanks for all the replies! My unsweetened tea is not decaf.....I'm like in mourning over it....lol Has everyone given up caffeine? And is that for life? -
Help! I'm on my last day of full liquids...15 days post-op. My wonderful hubby wants to take me out to the movies! We're big movie goers, and always have the popcorn and pop. Do you all have any suggestions I can snack on during the film? I would really appreciate it....thanks

I never was on a Protein only phase. would sugar free popsicles work? I count it in my fluid count, and it satisfies my sweet tooth.
