herewegoJ replied to Jessalene's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
It takes some getting used too. I actually ended up getting a different mask. I feel so much better with it tho! I had every symptom of sleep apnea, but all my other doctors have been blowing me off for years and telling me to loose weight. -

Long post but I needed to say this to people who would understand
herewegoJ replied to Dashofpixiedust8's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
You doing so great. I believe you figured it out. When you are obese, people don't see you. You are invisible , and when you are not, you try to make yourself invisible. I was at goal before, and it was hard because i didn't know how to handle people paying compliments and or guys paying attention to me. Its so much harder to hide. I wasn't obese all my life, so i can't imagine how difficult this is for you to adjust too. I think you really could use a local support group if possible. But don't let that fear and attention stop you, you got this. Keep going! -

The surgeon i took the class with would make you take 4 weeks with the job you describe. I do think its important to allow yourself to heal with a physical job. Sent from my SM-T810 using BariatricPal mobile app

Any August 2017 Sleevers?
herewegoJ replied to Jessalene's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
every time I thought I was sleeping, I woke up exhausted. Now I know that those where the worst nights with my apnea. Women can feel it a little different than man. I would also wake up starving, although i had eaten a good healthy meal the night before. I hope one day, they approve lower BMI without having to have problems first. Good luck to you! and how lucky to have a hubby as an inspiration and journey buddy! -

If you haven't started your pre-op diet, you need to contact your surgeon, he might want to reschedule your surgery since he ordered it and feels he needs your liver to shrink before surgery for a safer surgery. As for your indecision. Only you can make that decision. You can see a psychologist and find out if you are emotionally ready. It is a lifestyle change to loose the weight just as with any other diet. This is a tool to help you, but you will have to replace your old bad habits with new healthy ones. Your relationship with food needs to change, are you ready for this? the sleeve is not a magic bullet to loose weight and keep it off. You still will need to eat healthy. As for "never" going out to eat again, that isn't true. You will need to make healthy choices an possibly eat smaller portions than what you eat now and stand your ground and take responsibility for your food choices and health. Good luck! -
