i feel you girl i have a pulminary test for tomorrow,that will be my last one, but during all that time during the 6 months dietian classes, i didn,t know i could have had all my pre-ops done eariler, i was waiting for the surgeon office to call an schedule everything but thats not how its work.the friday after i finish all my classes. i decided to call the office she percieved to tell me all the stuff that i needed done. if only i knew to do it ahead of time. an not wait on them.things could have happen sooner. but anyway good luck an i hope the pcp can schedule you mine did, shes rooting for me, i had to do the chestxray, ekg, stress test two parts,now pulminary, hope things go as planed, you can do this, sil

hi i,m from ct not banded yet,lost 27lbs, had to do 6 months supervised dietian classes, last test is wednesday 15 for pulminary, hope i pass then i will come in for a session with doctor. my surgery is going to be at yale newhaven hospital by dr. robert bell. you guys can check out the obesity help web site they have a list of states to go to ct is on the list also all the doctors, hospitals.good luck on yall journey.they have lots of comments about the doctors.sil

hi my 6 months is up sept 3. i have one more test to do, that app, is wednesday 15, for a pulminary clearance hope i pass,then the nurse said i will come in for a session with the doctor, keeping my fingers cross. congrats on your surgery.

I had a appointment with my pcp on sept 11, for a chest xray, also a ekg, on sept 19, i went for a stress test, where they give you a shot in your iv, to slow your heartrate then you get on a traedmill. an walk, let me tell you i have never in my life been on a treadmill,it was like watching a newborn baby walk,what a shame,i do exercise but it,s on a stationary bike, let me tell you i was pitiful then they speed it up, but she said i did good.i hit the mark. you has to go a certain speedi guest how funny, then the 2 part i had to get a shot in myhand for a vien i had to lay down for about fifteen to twenty min,so the machine could take pictures of my heart to see if i have any blockage, with my arteries, i seen the pictures how awesome was that an they were close up. what an experience i had, i was laughing at myself an the treadmill. if only you could have seen me, so on oct 15 i go back for a pulminary test i think that,s when you blow in a tube, an then the nurse says she will bring me in for a session how nice is that, well the only thing is if i would have known to have my doctor do all doses tests sooner i would have been done stupid me i,m sitting here waiting for the surgeon office to call me to see what was needed when i could have had everything done already, oh well can,t cry over spilt milk maybe i needed to wait who knows. it was for a reason.lesson learned.:smile::cry_smile::tt2:hoping to be a smashing pumpkin, if not i will let you know.:thumbup:

hi my bmi was 57.4 now it,s down to 53.1 during the six months, dietian classes i.ve lost 27lbs so far maybe more than that. haven,t weigh myself lately, hopeing to be banded in oct,the nurse call me an tried to insist that i have the bypass saying the band won,t help my diabetes, which i knew was a dam lie, i think she tried to do a last minutes change of mine. which i told her no, seven months ago i did,nt sign up for no bypass,whichi,m not knocking it,s just not for me, my insurance covers both.i did my homework, but last week she really threw me for a loop. so i got on the phone to the doctors office an repeated what whoever calltold them it,s my choice. i was so pissed, for what whomever tried to pull. i,ve heard of people doing that kind of last minute stuff all the time.good luck on your journey.

call your insurance, an see what are their requirements for lapband surgery,i had to go to dietian classes for 6 months. depends on your insurance.my evaluation is oct,6. if i had known i was suppose to schedule it it would have been done early,my pcp just did xray, cardio,stress test, good luck on your journey.

hello today sept,26th. some nurse from yale university call me this morning trying to convince me to have the bypass surgery. she lied an said it wouldn,t help my diabetes. i guess she thought i was gullable to fall for her crap.it took me 6 months to get here,because she stated my bmi was too high, saying she recomended the bypass i said no,my insurance don,t require bmi. just that it,s medically necesary, from my pcp. so i call them back to say someone call my house talking about i have to have the bypass, the lady on the phone say,s it,s my choice. she says it happens all the time.i almost cried. but i gotten everything straighten out. sorry for the long reply had to vent. good luck everyone on your journey.

:crying::cursing:today sept,25th yale university call some lady told me over the phone about my surgery she tried to push the bypass on me, i almost cried. this person gonna tell me about my insurance blue care family plan, she said you gonna have the bypass because it,s gonnacure your diabetes, i said no i want the lapband, then i told her they switch my insurance, then she said that,s a different story i told her they cover both insurance also which i already knew, she gonna tell me i have to have a certain bmi,which was 59, now its 50, so i call the insurance company they say if it,s medical necesary an have my doctor write a letter, an i,m good to go. she had me so friggin upset, to say i don,t qualify i call the office back an said someone call me saying i don,t qualify for lapband, the nice lady said it,s your choice. that made me feel a whole lot better. an said i will have the surgery sometimes in oct, so that,s sound so good.i just had to vent. can,t believe she tried to push the bypass on me, like i was stupid.my heart really droped for a minute.thanks for listening. sil.:thumbup:
