I had my surgery january 13th, 09 my name is.(sil)

Hi everyone hope things are going great. sorry its been a minute.during my twwo week check up i lost 19lbs. the next i gained three of those back when i went for my first fill, that was because i was eating maged potatoes.during the mushy stages then i went for my second fill i had lost the three i had gained plus one extra pound now i go for my third fill next month.so overall from april 08-march-09 the total is 58lbs.i am not going to get on the scale anymore until my doctor app. it is just to much. let me tell you about my first pb this weekend i was eating a piece of sauteed brocoli i knew it was a different feeling when it went down i was home alone the pressure was horror.it lasted about hour i never wanna experience that again first came the slime twice five minutes later came the broccoli then instant relief sorry to be so gross.glad everyone is ok.i live an hour away from the meeting maybe i will make one one night i live in waterbury i take the bus i don,t drive it will be nice to meet everyone. sil

Congrats i know you thought this day will never come. i will be rooting you on.my surgery was january 13th. i had no complications.you will do great.

Grits cream of wheat made with skim milk light yogurt sweet potatoes mashed cream soups refried beans oatmeal tuna i did yogurt with cottage cheese of you can do cottage cheese with sugar free jello. wishing you all the best. sil

:ohmy::thumbup::mad2::eek:I was warming up some sauted broccoli.an i took a bite an when it went down i didn,t feel anything but as soon as i took bite number two i knew this was not gonna be good it felt different an hurt more it was just stuck like in my chest an it was a painful experience.it lasted for about half an hour i could feel it in my throat trying to come back up but it would not so i had to run upstairs to the toilet because i knew i was gonna throw up.when i did it was slime. it came up twice.it was gross the painful feeling was still there about ten minutes later the broccolli came up an instant relief. i would not want to experienced that again i could just feel it right their in my throat not going nowhere an the thing about this stuck feeling when it was happening i thought about everything on this site the people was talking about you guys was going through my mind. so this is what it is what a bad feeling my chest hurt like it was tighting upi could not do anything but let it run its course.i was home alone i was scared. for the resr of the day i did liquids i remember that an yogurt. but today i am feeling great thanks for letting me vent (sil). an stop&shop has yogurt on sale 20 for $8:00.until the end of the week.(dannonight&fit) but this morning shoprite has the same yogurt 20 for $4:00. did i get rip off or what. iwent an got 40.for $16:00.this morning i could have gotten 40 for $8:00 oh well it is still not to late but i have to first eat all 40 others. just kidding i would not be that greedy they are only 80 calories they are good. i have to go now wishing everyone well on our new journey in life.:thumbup:

:wink_smile::smile:Hi everyone hope everything is going well.i had an appointment today at 11:40, i took the bus i was late there. it takes an hour from where i live their was four clients ahead of me but i waited patiently because i wanted my fill he put in 1/2 cc i felt the gurgling water going down i lost 4 pounds so far. during the whole ten months so far i am down waist size from 32 to 26.as a reward i went to avenue plus an bought myself three pairs of blue jeans an a blouse.they had a coupon if you sign up right then you will recieve a discount those three pair of jeans &blouse would have cost me $114.00 with the discount i paid $90.00.it feels so good just to go an try on clothes.i hope everyone is doing good on your new journey in life. the fill did not hurt at all.it only took 5 seconds.i like my doctor .i can come back evert two weeks.the nurses ask do you think you need a fill.(yes).my next appointment is april 19. because his office is doing renovations. i am on liquida for today, mushies tomorrow an regular food for wednesday.well i gotta go now i love this site so much an also love you guys so hang in their everyone an god speed. sil.:thumbup:

hi i went yesterday to the avenue plus to buy three pairs of jeans. i went from a 32 to 26. i got tired of stitching up the size 32 pants in the waist.i am not going to buy anymore soon.

hi i had to do the six months supervised dietian classes i started in april of 08-my last weight in was sept 3rd 08,had to wait because of the holidays over i was banded on january 13th 09. thats exactly 10 months. good luck on your new journey.

I was banded on january 13th, i have type 2 diabetes,high cholestral,high blood pressure,he took me off diabetes meds an cholestral meds so fao everything seems ok.still taking my blood pressure pills.

During the six months dietian classes i lost 40lbs,from april 08-september 3rd.january 13th was surgery my weight was 285lbs. after surgery now 266lbs. my total is 59lbs.

hi my nutritionist recomend flintstones vitamins with iron or flintstone complete.twice a day also viactiv chews . i take the chewable vitamins.i know they are for kids but they have iron.

hi vala my doctor told me to do ensure drinks.i was nit hungry after surgery i was on 1/4cup for breakfast, lunch,dinner. each has 2.2grams protien. 62.5 calories. each for a total of 7grams of protien an 188calories a day.i lost 19lbs within two weeks.i was also on children vitamins with iron an viactiv chews. twice a day. i had my choice of ensure boost slimfast glucerna no sugar added carnation instant breakfast made with skim milk. hope this help.wishing you a speedy recovery.sil

congrats you are on the loosers bench now sounds like your surgery went great.i lost 19lbs during the first 2 weeks post-op. thank goodness i was not hungry i was suprise myself.wishing you a speedy recovery. sil.

the nurse in my doctor office call me the day before surgery that morning saying congrats you been approved i am like(WTH). my surgery date was january 13th 09.they submitted to insurance nov 29th. during the info session. they say it takes two weeks to comfirm but it was during the holidays, everyone was on vacation i was really shocked. because the nurse was nervous herself.she got the call that morning.

Hi lyndi i went for my first fill on monday i have gained 3lbs back from the 19lbs that i lost during two weeks post-op. cause i was eating mash potatoes.during the mushy stage. the nurse says no carbs.so you are not alone.

hi my surgery was on the 13th but it was a tuesday, my son was born on a friday the 13th, i call him my good luck charm. forget the (crap) lol an have your surgery. you will be fine.

I had my first fill yesterday also.i have the small band.he gave me 1.5ccs he told me liquid for 24hours then mushy 24hours then regular foods.

:w00t:hi everyone today i went for my first fill. my appointment was at 11:40. got their at 11:15. had to wait for like five minutes.by the way i gained 3lbs.she ask me what i was eating i said mashed potatoes.mushy stage she said no carbs.but protien. the doctor gave me 1.5cc he said i had the small band, standard.i don,t know how many cc,s it hold. but anyway it was painless an easy about f ive seconds it was done he ask me did i fell anything i say no he says most people do some don,t but for a second i could taste it in my throat.it taste just like my iv fluid when my nurse change my iv bag during my hospital stay. after the fill he gave me water to sip it went down fine.i am to do liquids for today, tomorrow mushy, then he said regular foods.he is a great doctor.so far i haven,t had any complications what so ever. as i sit here sipping my chicken broth i think i can feel something.so my people how are you doing. wishing everyone blessings on our new journey in life.
