Forgive me if I am doing this wrong, I am new to this. I am not sure if others are in the same boat as me or not, I guess I am just hoping to find some people who can relate to what I am feeling. I am having a Roux En Y in a couple months as I have some medical problems and my stomach doesn't function properly. This surgery is the only option to fix my symptoms-I regurgitate everything I eat, I have heartburn 100% of the time that isn't being managed with prescribed antacids.
Is anyone else in this boat somewhat and can give me insight with regards to recovery post surgery? What is it like eating with a portion of your stomach removed? Are you on a liquid diet permanently?
Any advice or insight would be appreciated

I'm not a doctor and I'm not having the same procedure, but with the gastric sleeve, most of the stomach is removed and, although I'll be on a liquid diet for a few weeks after the surgery, eventually I'll move to mush and then soft foods and eventually real food--though small amounts and, ideally, mostly protein with some veggies and fruit. However, this is definitely something I'd suggest asking your doctor for an answer you can trust that applies to you. Best of luck.
