  1. DH had his band May 2007 and I having (fingers crossed) my band done in October. I'm glad we have time inbetween. DH did GREAT for the first year, but has totally lost his focus. He's figured out how to eat around the band, and I think he is eating too much (JMO). He hasn't lost anything since February. I'm hoping that when I get banded and rarin' to go, he'll get focused again. He's lost 80lbs so far and has about 60-75lbs more to go. I have 100lbs waiting to get lost.:biggrin2:

    Moody.

Froggi - My sister suffers from really long and heavy periods, her doctor told her to take Shepherds Purse. It's a natural herb. Capsella bursa-pastoris - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia She swears by it! Just an idea. It really slows down her period. Some times, if it's light, but just hangs around too long, it has actually stopped it.

    Stretch Marks

We actuallly talked about this at our last support group meeting. The PS said the only way to really get rid of them is to have them removed. He also said, any lotion will help - it's actually the rubbing action the makes them softer and faded. A stretch mark is a tear in one of the layers of our skin, so keeping it moisturized and rubbing on it help the healing process.

  5. D can also mean Darn:wink2:
  6. I want pretty much the same things you guys want... but two things stick out right now First, when I was smaller (years and years ago), I was able to sit in an armed chair and put my purse in the chair beside me, that was cool. Second, to finally be as beautiful as my husband thinks I am.
  7. I was talking to the dietitian where I'm having my suergery, and she told me about a new multi vitamin for bariatric patients. They even have one specifically for AGB. Here's the link, in case anyone is looking for a new one. I personally haven't tried them yet, but she said she's gotten good feedback so far. The website is www.celebratevitamins.com
  8. pchamster - I haven't been banded yet, but DH was banded a year ago and hasn't had any problems with fills. Sorry, I know that doesn't help. salsa1877 - WOW! your stats are incredible!!!!! You are such an inspiration! (that's all, just wanted to tell you):tongue2:

Anyone needed no or few fills?

My husband didn't have a fill for the first 4 months. I think he's had 4 fills in a year. We think he needs one more - just a little bit.

    insurance denied need help

It happened to me too! A fellow employee and I where both on Weight Watchers for over a year, we both submitted our paper work and she got approved on WW history and I didn't. When I tried to fight it, it was because her PCP had noted in her chart that she was on WW at all her visits during the year (not consecutive) but mine didn't. She didn't write it anywhere in my chart thatI was on WW, even though we had discussed it. Oh well, I have to finish out the rest of my six months - 4 more to go, then I'll re-submit. My co-worker has already had surgery and lost nearly 30lbs!!

    Denied an Frustrated!!

I called my insurance this morning to check the status on my file, and they told me a denial letter was sent out this morning. They said it was denied because my 6 month supervised diet was not consecutive. WTH?!?! I KNOW it was. I had doctor office visits along with 1 year of Weight Watchers, which I was told would work as my six months alone. They said I only submitted May 07, June 07, August 07 and December 07. Now I can't get the insurance person to call me back so I can argue, and the lady at the surgeons office(who submitted everything) won't call me back either. I have everything, I kept copies - and I;'m not missing anything!:wink2:

My doctor is putting on phentermine

I hated it! My doc put me on it a few times. At first, I thought "wow! this is going to work, I have so much energy". THEN - the dry mouth. That alone made me quite taking it. I wasn't ever on it long enough to see results. My mouth would get so dry and I would get so thirsty, I'd have trouble talking. Once I stopped taking it, everything went back to normal. Blah:blink:

    Shoes shoes shoes!!! :)

I sure hope so. I LOVE heels, that's why I married a tall man! My MIL had surg 2 1/2 years ago, and even though she doesn't where heels, her feet have gone down a whole size, and she is able to wear "cute" shoes, not just comfortable shoes. Yunno what I mean?

    Denied an Frustrated!!

No, I have FiserV through Mother Frances Hospital. I spoke to them yesterday, and they told me I have to wait the rest of the six months. I guess I'm looking at late August, early September. Pooh. At least it's happening, I just have to be patient.
  17. My DH and I plan to be there, mostly depends on cost, but if it is in Oct -we have plenty of time to save up. I actually have several people I work with that are banded or in the process who would love to come (they don't hang oround here so much:wink2:)

mtanna - who is your surgeon??? I'm using Charles Beall MD, he did my DH surgery last May. Froggi - I wish I knew why it took so long. My file was at insurance for 2 weeks, and when I called to check on it the first time - they couldn't find it. My surgeons office had to re-fax everything. Now inurance has had my file for over three weeks.
  19. I am so excited about this!
  20. I've been reading these post and I can definately relate to 90% of the stories. I have never been "skinny" but I did loose a lot of weight once and got down to 170 lbs (woo hoo ephedra). That's when I met my DH, and DH's mom. She is a sweet lady and and I wouldn't trade my inlaws, but sometimes she says things that hurt my feelings. She doesn't say them to be mean, they just come out wrong. After DH and I had been dating or a few months (and were realizing this is it) his mom said "You know, your the biggest girl he's ever dated. We'll have to see how this works out". I was mortified. Four years later and 100 lbs heavier - it's working out wonderfully. My mom once told me, after I had lost the weight the first time, that she was glad I lost weight cause my a** was the widest she'd ever seen. Now I've gained the weight back plus 30 lbs, and she hasn't said anything. I keep that comment in the back of my mind.
  21. You look wonderful! Thank you for sharing, it gives me hope.
  22. I thought I'd be nice and wait 2 weeks before I started to pester my insurance company, and when I called yesterday, they said there wasn't a chart on me. I got upset and called my surgeons office and spoke to the insurance person and she promised me she faxed it. She said she had TWO confirmations. Blah blah blah - she called and got the same story, so we had to re-submit everything again today. I am so frustrated, I could be half way throught this process by now. Oh well, I guess I just need to hurry up and wait. Thanks for reading - I just needed to vent.
