Hello to everyone!!! I was banded 10/13, but I'm just now getting a chance to play on the computer. My laptop died right after surgery . Anyway, I feel great! I was completely shocked how little pain there was from the actual surgery. I didn't even need to take any of my pain meds. Now the gas pains on the other hand - I thought I was dying! The only thing that has helped with the gas has been rolaids softchews. It took me nearly 30 minutes to eat one! They're gummy and I was so afraid of swallowing too much at once. I had the gas for a solid week. Thankfully, it is going away. I have my surgery follow up today. I hope everyone else is doing well!! Oh, I'm down 16.7lbs already

I know I saw where to get it somewhere, but I can't seem to find it. Can someone please point me in the right direction???? Thank you!

Did you do an at-home iodine scrub before surgery ?
myturn0421 replied to a topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
My surgeon gave me some sample bottles of hibicleanse(?). I have to scrub Sat, Sun and Monday before I leave for the hospital. -
Hi honey~ (OP is my DH)

After I re-read that I realized I didn't explain myself enough. I like the quiet too, sometimes. But there is a difference in being quiet because they are ignoring you and just being quiet. I like it when the stylist/sever has a personality, doesn't neccessarily mean chatty kathy.

T.I.P.S. - To Insure Proper Service A tip is earned wages, not expected. I worked really hard as a waitress for a long time, and I did rely on my tips to pay my bills. I feel like there are so many places/people that expect them. I try to tip well, but it depends on the service I get. I think that $2.15 an hour for wait staff is rediculous for the amount of work that goes into it. I've never been one to do anything fancy with my hair, just get it cut. I leave between $5 - $10 as a tip - but personality plays a part. If someone just cuts my hair and say have a nice day, I consider that poor service. I could have the best hair cut of my life, but if they don't say a word to me, or smile even, I take that into consideration.

SEVEN KINDS OF SEX Results of a recent research show that there are seven kinds of sex. 1. The 1st kind of sex is called: Smurf Sex. * This kind of sex happens when you first meet s omeone and you both have sex until you are BLUE in the face. 2. The 2nd kind of sex is called: Kitchen Sex. *This is when you have been with your partner for a short time and you are so needy you will have sex anywhere, even in the kitchen. 3. The 3rd kind of sex is called: Bedroom Sex. * This is when you have been with your partner for a long time. Your sex has gotten routine and you usually have sex only in your bedroom. 4. The 4th kind of sex is called: Hallway Sex . This is when you have been with your partner for too long. When you pass each other in the hallway you both say "screw you." 5. The 5th kind of sex is called: Religious Sex. * Which means, you get Nun in the morning, Nun In the afternoon, and Nun at night. (This is Very Popular) 6. The 6th kind is called Courtroom Sex. * This is when you cannot stand your spouse anymore. They takes you to court and screws you in front of everyone. 7. INSTALLING A HUSBAND Dear Tech Support, Last year I upgraded from Boyfriend 5.0 to Husband 1.0 and noticed a distinct slow down in overall system performance, particularly in the flower and jewelry applications, which operated flawlessly under Boyfriend 5.0. In addition, Husband 1.0 uninstalled many other valuable programs, such as Romance 9.5 and Personal Attention 6.5, and then installed undesirable programs such as NBA 5.0, NFL 3.0, and Golf Clubs 4.1. Conversation 8.0 no longer runs, and Housecleaning 2.6 simply crashes the system. Please note that I have tried running Nagging 5.3to fix these problems, but to no avail. What can I do? Signed, Desperate. Dear Desperate, First, keep in mind, Boyfriend 5.0 is an Entertainment Package, while Husband 1.0 is an operating system. Please enter command: I thought you loved me html and try to download Tears 6.2 and do not forget to install the Guilt 3.0 update. If that application works as designed, Husband 1.0 should then automatically run the applications Jewelry 2.0 and Flowers 3.5. However, remember, overuse of the above application can cause Husband 1.0 to default to Grumpy Silence 2.5, Happy Hour 7.0 or Beer 6.1. Please note that Beer 6.1 is a very bad program that will download the farting and Snoring Loudly Beta. Whatever you do, DO NOT under any circumstances install Mother-In-Law 1.0(it runs a virus in the background that will eventually seize control of all your system resources.) In addition, please do not attempt to reinstall the Boyfriend 5.0 program. These are unsupported applications and will crash Husband 1.0. In summary, Husband 1.0 is a great program, but it does have limited memory and cannot learn new applications quickly. You might consider buying additional software to improve memory and performance. We recommend Cooking 3.0 and Hot Lingerie 7.7. Tech Support

I am on day 5 of my LIQUID pre-op diet and someone has delivered 12 boxes of pizza to my office!!! They are on the desk behind me. The smell is intoxicating........ I feel like I need a food sponsor,
-
Thanks for the pizza ideas, I'll try them (waaaay post op). I feel good about myself right now. The pizza has been devoured by everyone else. I put on some strong hand lotion - so I can't smell it anymore, lol. Only two more days to suffer, we get lunch catered every Wed, Thurs, and Fri. I'll live.
-
Thanks for the quick replies! I feel better. I moved the pizza to a different desk. Part me just got really sad - I just realized HOW MUCH i am emotionally attached to food. It makes me appreciate my decision to do this more. It's almost scarey in a way, why would someone get do frantic over food. Junk food. I need to write the saying "Eat to survive, not survive to eat" on my forehead.
-
The only unjury I've tried is the unflavored - not bad. It definately has "some" flavor. I add it to my soups alot. Right now I'm on my pre-op liquid, so it has really helped. last night I had some beef broth and added 1 scoop and I couldn't tell it was there.

Does your DH or SO know how much you weigh?
myturn0421 replied to cQQlgirl's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I know DH's weight and he knows mine. We are each others biggest shoulder to lean on. I can't remember who said it earlier, but DH is doing all my measurements and photos and I did his. No secrets, it's obvious I'm fat. -
Vote for your favorite protein drink!
myturn0421 replied to photo's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I have to second the Body Fortress from Walmart. I haven't tried that many different kinds. I'll mix 2 scoops of chocolate (47 grams of protein) with one cup of fat free milk, a tbsp of creamy lowfat peanut butter and 1 inch chunk of frozen banana - WONDERFUL! I'll some times add some crystal light to the vanilla and it reminds me of creamsicles, mmmmm. -
2008 National Lap-Band Conference
myturn0421 replied to CoachCher's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I just want to thank Cher for putting this all together. DH and I had a good time. I think for us, the most valuble information we got - was to utilize our support system more. I think we're some of the lucky ones. I was floored at how many people didn't have a support system/team. My husband feel senergized to start working harder and I'm pumped about my surgery on the 13th. We won't make it to New York, but I wish we could. I'll definately be there next year (DH said he'll come if there is more men ) Thank you again!!! -
How Do You Overcome Feelings of Disappointment?
myturn0421 replied to mikesforevergirl's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Stephanie - that was very encouraging! I just want to add that weight loss comes off a lot differently for people. Have you measured yourself? A lady I work with had surgery almost 2 years ago, she's lost 70 lbs. She hasn't lost anything in the past 3-4 months and just this morning she measured and realized she's done from a 20-22 to a loose 18. Keep trucking - you're right on track. -
2008 National Lap-Band Conference
myturn0421 replied to CoachCher's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
it's actually been really nice, but you'll find it more on the sticky side. I've lived here 15 years and I swear I will never get used to this weather. -
I haven't tried the Bariatric Advantage, but the Celebrate are pretty good. My surgeon prefers the Celebrate vitamins. They gave us a sample of the multivitamin and the calcium at my pre-op visit, and they were both good.

this sounds devine! I love smoked salmon. I had to post so I could save the recipe or else I'd never find it again.

I'm sorry I don't really have an answer for you. Come to think of it, I really can't remember the last time DH burped?!? He's 1 1/2 years post op. HOWEVER, my MIL had gastric bypass and now burps, excuse me - belches- more than ever. She can burp like no one I know! It's incredible.

2008 National Lap-Band Conference
myturn0421 replied to CoachCher's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Funny thing - I'm supposed to start my 10 day liquid pre-op diet this Friday. I told my surgeon that I was going to the Conference and he told me I could start Sunday instead, it "wouldn't be fair to be on liquids at the Fall Fling!". -
