Can anyone tell me what a PB is?

I have to giggle at the the hiccups cuz that's when I know I'm full.:smile2: thankfully, I haven't PB'd or gotten stuck yet (knock on wood) I've seen my hubby get stuck once and PB a time or two, not fun.
  2. I just had a fill on Tuesday, my surgeon said the magority of his pt's have 5cc's or less. At my fill before that, he put me up to 5cc's and it was way too tight, I couldn't even drink any water in the office, so he took out 1cc. On Tuesday, he added 0.5 and even though I'm still on pureed foods til tomorrow - I REALLY feel a diference. I'm at the fine tunig stage.

My weight loss has be pretty steady (went a few week not losing anything - duh that's why the band is adjustable:tongue2:) and now things are moving. I'm finally taking exercise seriously and hope to start loosing more. That's all. THANKS!!!!

    Massive dairy food cravings

I go through spurts, like right now. My husband and I can go through a gallon of milk in 2 day - we're both banded. I figure the same thing, my body is needing it. At least we keep 1% or FF milk only.
  6. I would love to get more info on Vegas too! DH and are trying to plan a vacation for October, that might just have to fit into our plans!!

Had First Fill one week ago...and...

I didn't feel any differences after my first fill. I lost about 5lbs that week, but I was also on liquids for a few days. I just had my second fill and I felt great restriction for three weeks, I lost 2 lbs each week. As of Monday, it's like all the restriction is GONE. At first I was afraid my band leaked, but I accidentally took too big of a bite and I definitely know I still have restriction, but I can eat a lot. Who knows.... I've read where people will "lose" their restriction, then it comes back. Kinda like being tighter in the morning - no rhyme or reason.
  9. It's not really a "drinking game" but I bought one of the Smart Water's, the 33.8 oz. I make sure I drink at leat one of those before I go to lunch, if I have some left, I drink it all before I eat. Then I refill it after lunch, and make sure I drink it all before I leave work. That makes just over 64 oz for sure, then what ever more I have, I don't really count, it's more like a bonus. So far it's working.

My hubby has his done tomorrow!!!!

DH is Dear Husband or Darn Husband, depending on how your day is going..

My hubby has his done tomorrow!!!!

that is so true!! DH lost nearly 75 lbs the first 4 months, but it's much harder for him now. We are all different. I work at family practice office and we have several pt's that have been banded, I'm constantly talking to them about this journey being individualized. Sometimes I feel like a Band Counselor, lol.

My hubby has his done tomorrow!!!!

it is wonderful to have the band together! My hubby will have his two years this May and I waited patiently for mine, finally banded 10/13/2008. We constantly push each other and support each other. It's nice to know when he's at the table and looks at me with that look, I know how he feels, I know what's going on. I hate that it took me so long to get mine, but I wouldn't trade having him with me for anything.

    What do you all do?

I am a scheduler for a Primary Care Physician. I basically check out all the patients that come through our office, make sure follow ups are scheduled, referrals are done, and testing is scheduled. It keeps me busy.

    Funny Jokes

I had forgotten about this thread, I get some really good ones. I need to post them more often! Aunt Mildred was a 93-year-old woman who was particularly despondent over the recent death of her husband. She decided that she would just kill herself and join him in death. Thinking that it would be best to get it over with quickly, she took out his old Army pistol and made the decision to shoot herself in the heart, since it was badly broken in the first place. Not wanting to miss the vital organ and become a vegetable and a burden to someone, she called her doctor's office to inquire as to just exactly where the heart would be on a woman. The doctor said, 'Your heart would be just below your left breast'. Later that night........ Mildred was admitted to the hospital with a gunshot wound to her knee.

    Funny Jokes

The Black Bra The other day I had lunch with 2 of my unmarried friends: One is engaged, one is a mistress, and of course I have been married for 20+ years. We were chatting about our relationships and decided to amaze our men by wearing a black leather bra & bodice, stiletto heels and a mask over just our eyes. We agreed to meet in a few days to exchange notes. Here's how it all went: My engaged friend: The other night my boyfriend came over and found me wearing a black leather bodice, tall stilettos and a mask. He saw me and said, 'You are the woman of my dreams. I love you.' Then we made love all night long. The mistress: Me too! The other night I met my lover at his office and I was wearing the leather bodice, heels and mask over my eyes and a raincoat. When I opened the raincoat he didn't say a word, but we had wild sex all night. Then I had to share my story: When my husband came home I was wearing the leather bodice, black stockings, stilettos and a mask over my eyes. As soon as he came in the door and saw me he said… "What's for dinner, Batman?"

    Funny Jokes

Two Garbage Bags A little old lady is walking down the street dragging two large plastic garbage bags behind her. One of the bags rips, and every once in a while a $20 bill falls out onto the sidewalk. Noticing this, a policeman stops her, and says, 'Ma'am, there are $20 bills falling out of your bag.' 'Oh, really? Darn!' says the little old lady. "I'd better go back, and see if I can find them. Thanks for telling me..' 'Well, now, not so fast,' says the cop. 'How did you get all that money, You didn't steal it, did you?' 'Oh, no', says the little old lady. 'You see,my back yard is right next to the football stadium parking lot. On game days, a lot of fans come and pee through the fence into my flower garden. So, I stand behind the fence with my hedge clippers. Each time some guy sticks his thing through the fence, I say, '$20 or off it comes.' 'Well, that seems only fair.' laughs the cop. "OK, Good luck! Oh, by the way, what's in the other bag?' 'Well, you know', says the little old lady, not everybody pays.'

If you had the choice bw Realize & LB

I had a choice, and based my decision on my surgeons preference - he liked the Realize. I try to use my online program daily, and I honestly don't know if he has ever checked it, but I do know that the nutritionist checked it often before she moved. We don't have a new one yet. My surgeon liked it better, mostly because of the port. This one it a little bit bigger and flatter than the LB, he said it's easier for him to access for my fills. As for restriction, I've had two fills since my surgery in Oct, the first was 3cc and I had my second one 02/03/09 and I am good and restricted. He orginally added 2cc for a total of 5, but that was two much (I couldn't swallow any water in the office) and he took out 1 - total of 4 and I have great restriction for now.

    Don't look if squeamish!

Lol! I will as soon as I get a scanner that works!

    Don't look if squeamish!

I had asked my surgeon if he could take a picture a while back, then I forgot to remind him before surgery. Thankfully, he has a great memory and got me a picture. I only have one, and it's of the band after it's been placed. I'm glad I have it; my hubby thinks it's weird.

    stomach sleepers

I am primarily a side sleeper, but quite often, I wake up on my stomach. I think it was about 3-4 weeks before I could comfortably lay on my side. It took a while of falling asleep in my back, then rolling over. Now, the only time it bother's me to lay on my stomach, is if I'm laying on the floor. It doesn't hurt, but I feel my port and it's uncomfortable. Have you tried getting a flat pillow and laying mostly on your stomach, but kinda tucking in the pillow under your port? Just an idea.
  22. I guess afraid is not the right word, more like I'm nervous. I don't feel any restriction (duh! I was just banded), but I could tell when the swelling went down by how my water/fluids go down. My surgeon say I can start eating soft foods, like fish - but I'm nervous. I know I can't live off broth and protien drinks - so little bites at a time, I guess. Anyone else feel/felt like this?
  23. I know we (DH and I) won't be able to attend this conference, but we'd like to try to make at least one. What are the proposed dates and locations of all the conferences in 2009??? TIA
  24. All I can say is so far so good. I was banded 10/13/08 with a Realize Band. My surgeon said he prefers it. I go for my first fill evaluation 11/20/08.

Anyone else "afraid" to start on solid food?

Well, I had my surgery follow up yesterday and my surgeon told me that if I'm anxious about eating again, he wants to keep me on pureed foods a little longer. Blah. Oh well. Dinner last night was pureed chicken salad, not too bad I guess.
