I could use a buddy going through this about the same time as me! I'm a 23 year old female in the Miami, Florida area. My surgery date is 6/28/2017. Ideally looking for someone with a similar surgery date that is nearby so I can have a work out partner too but either way new friends anywhere is welcome. I'll take all the support I can get!

Menstrual cycle changes
Jrayeb93 replied to Newbeva's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Also makes sticking to the diet so much harder. And makes exercising difficult with the damn incessant cramping. Bout to go see my gyno to see if there's anything I can do. Sent from my XT1585 using BariatricPal mobile app -

Mirena was inserted April 1 2016 surgery June 30 2017 got my period July 1 and it has yet to go away. I hope it stops soon daily tampons are making me sore and pads and I just don't want to work. Sent from my XT1585 using BariatricPal mobile app -
Sipping wasn't working for me at all I had to take normal swallows otherwise I'd end up dehydrated. 1 oz every 15 minutes is what my discharge instructions say but I ended up blacking out doing that so I just listened to my body and I take normal swigs really. I forgot a few days ago and woke up late night and grabbed my water bottle and starting drinking like almost chugging the water and it didn't really hurt but it felt uncomfortable for about 30 seconds of gas moving around and then all better. Vsg and working in extreme heat, worried about dehydration.

I was sleeved 6/30 and return to work on 7/26. I work as a parking cashier at a stadium in Miami. So already y'all can imagine that heat mixed with such high humidity. Standing on asphalt with the sun beating down, asphalt returning that heat back up, and car exhaust making it that much worse. Many employees throughout the season drop like flies do to the heat without being sleeved. I'm worried about how to safely work without getting dehydrated. Thankfully it's events only so I won't be there every day. But anyone have warnings or tips for me? Obviously keep a water bottle with me and sip sip sip and make sure I eat every two or at least three hours. Can you begin drinking more than one ounce of water at a time after a few weeks? -

Standing hasn't been an issue for me at all I walk almost all day long somedays 10 miles in totality I'm just so bored I have nothing better to do and there's only so much Netflix I can watch. And by then my calorie count will be much higher than it is now cause I'll have started on pureed/soft foods. My protein is always over 70 g. So I'm not really worrying too much about that tbh Sent from my XT1585 using BariatricPal mobile app -
Did any of y'all get these weird little spasms after surgery it's only 6 days post op for me so I'd imagine it's normal and I forgot to mention during my visit with the surgeon today. I get them on my mid to lower right abdomen and right above my left breast. It's a funny feeling almost like a light buzz in me under my skin.

I had a dream that I chugged some coke and felt my stomach exploding inside me and then die. It was pretty terrible lmao but I woke up and laughed it off. Sent from my XT1585 using BariatricPal mobile app

I have an event the day after surgery- will I feel up to going?
Jrayeb93 replied to Chrissy0629's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
The first day for me was hell utter hell I had trouble breathing because it hurt to breathe due to the hiatal hernia repair they often do too. Then the following day I was a million times better but so tired. I was completely exhausted and so very nauseous. I had to pee like every 30 minutes but otherwise the day after I felt fabulous. The only reason I say don't beyond the whole major surgery you need rest but you have surgical wounds. And public places have a lot of bacteria. You'll be increasing your chances of infection. And you have to eat every two hours. So if you do still go, be sure you have the appropriate foods available and water. I suggest a medicine cup to control portions.
