Today is day one of my two week liquid diet, and I have to say, it's gonna be a long two weeks. My head is pounding (waiting for my daughter to get home with my Tylenol), I'm exhausted and I'm cranky. I want food!!! I wish it were possible to just sleep through the next two weeks. I'm having WLS in an effort to avoid a knee replacement. I had a partial at 37 in my left knee, and I'm in need of a total in my right knee (I'm 41). If you've ever used an anti-gravity treadmill, you can really feel the difference the weight makes. I'm being sleeved on the 1st and my hopes are high. HW 241 SW 238 GW 130 Getting sleeved 3/1

I've been very open about my surgery. However, I did consider taking annual leave instead of sick leave so that I didn't have to provide any additional information. But, chose to just be open about it. I've asked for three weeks off, but I anticipate going back after two weeks. I just wanted to be on the safe side and err on the side of caution. I'm March 1st. I've given up coffee, and soda for the most part. The coffee was so hard cuz I sure do love it. But that's pretty much all I've changed. I know I've gained a couple pounds since my last appointment cuz I'm really trying to enjoy my last days of freedom.

My package was submitted to my insurance last week. A hospital authorization popped up on my insurance record dated 1/18. Not sure what that means, but I'm just patiently waiting for my insurance decision, whether an approval or denial. I'm the most impatient person so the wait is killing me. I figure, if approved, I'll probably be scheduled for mid to late March. I really can't believe how quickly the last 6 months have gone, but these last few weeks are dragging by. My final appointment was last Monday but seems like last year. This site is a great source of information. I can't tell you how much of a help it has been through this journey. [emoji3]

So my husband has been approved too, but his authorization letter hasn't been processed yet. So I have to wait for that to schedule mine, since we're having it done together. I'm so excited for all of us!!

So I had some mail at the house run my insurance company that I didn't even think to open. Turns out it's my approval, which was mailed out a week so. So, yeah, I was approved in one week and didn't even know it. But how odd that my doctor's office hasn't received it yet? So I sent them a copy. Hopefully they'll be able to get me scheduled today.

I was approved!! The doctor's office hasn't received the authorization yet, and my doctor only schedules on Thursday or Friday so I won't get scheduled until late next week.

I emailed my doctor's office this morning to get a status update. No word yet.
