  1. So it has been one month (and one day) but hey who is counting, since surgery and I have lost 29 pounds since surgery and 32 from my highest weight. I can't say any of this has been easy. I spent two days in the hospital instead of one because the medicine they used to inject my stomach area to numb it didn't really work on me. This is probably because I am used to narcotic medications due to neck and back issues along with how much I was given when I was in an induced coma in 2005 and in my recovery after. So the pain was much greater than I anticipated and it wasn't gas pain. Once I got out, things were ok. I was able to keep my liquids down but I was still tired and to this day I am still easily tired. I am having a hard time getting to the goal of 100 grams of Protein and 100 oz of liquids a day but I will keep fighting to do so. Now that my wife has started her solid meals it is interesting trying to share a small plate of food and not even being able to eat that all. Plus having to find things that we can eat when we are out. Just much harder than we thought. The looks we get when we ask for specialized things. People don't understand and think we are crazy. Until next time! Noel
  2. When I first got out of surgery I was screaming about pain. I was still having issues with pain and lots of it thru yesterday when they let me go. Being home has lessened some of it and being able to just do my own thing at the house instead of being stuck in a room. I seem to be able to tolerate the liquids better lately so I'm happy about that. I'm sad to see others that hurt bad after surgery but glad I wasn't alone. It made me doubt if I should have done it at all. Sent from my SM-G955U using BariatricPal mobile app

    6:30am PST

I got the call.... I am going to the big leagues, or shall I say the smaller leagues! Tomorrow at 6:30 a.m. I will be at the hospital. I honestly am trying not to think about it. I am just trying to just let it get here. I am sure there is a gauntlet of emotions that I am hiding but I am trying to keep an even keel. Keep strong and not have any second thoughts. It's just such a huge decision.
  4. In less than 24 hours I will know my surgery time and I am looking forward to it. I can't wait to get this done. I am nervous but I am anxious to get started on my new life. I know there will be struggles ahead and I will be on here to discuss and figure out how to get through them. But things need to get done to improve my overall life. I look forward to getting to know everyone on here. Noel

    Pre Op Appt Done!

Well, the pre-op appt is done. It was quick, I kind of felt like I was a cattle going through paperwork. The people presenting were fine. The people from the hospital were fine. I am still surprised that we have no pre-surgery diet. We can eat our standard weight loss diet until the last night. Clearly not going crazy the last night. However, I am going to go to mostly a liquid diet because I worry about my liver size even though the doctor doesn't seem to be worried about it. I know that I have an enlarged liver so I would rather be safe than sorry honestly. I am thinking about starting a Youtube Video blog. Has anyone else done this as a way to document their journey? Until later! Noel

    Fibromyalgia and Sleeve

I will be curious to find out. Since I have Fibro, it will be a journey. One I will be happy, angry, and sad with but need to do.

    Going to preop appt

I'm sitting here in my car waiting to go into my pre-op appt in about 15 minutes knowing this will begin a whirlwind of a week. I'm nervous and excited. I know I have the strength and determination to make this work. See you on the other side with a full report!

    June sleeve buddies?

My surgery is June 13th and my preop appt is Wednesday. I think I am going to do either a blog or a vlog on my journey through this whole thing. My wife who I will encourage to join here as well is having hers done June 27th.
