Potassium and magnesium are two big offenders of leg cramps. Increase your take of those. Also do an epsiom salt foot bath once a day. You will absorbe the magnesium through your skin.

When is diarrhea a concern ? tmi
Dabearo replied to nh-vsgirl's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Diarrhea should be taken seriously. You will become severely dehydrated quickly. You lose a lot of electrolytes also. If you don't get it under control quickly, call your doc. -
I finally did it. Four days post op...
Dabearo replied to Mamaŕe's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Post op day 3 today. Got in my 60 oz of fluid and 60 gram protein. That is a million tiny sips. Still having slight pain and burping. I found standing up and drinking kinda helps. -
The threads above are very old. Does anyone have recent experiences of taking a tbls of beneficial oils post op? I'm not talking about cooking with it, I'm interested in experience with a small does during the full liquid phase.

How much can you eat?
Dabearo replied to heylizzyclay's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I think the way your doing it is incredible and I totally get it. Gives me plenty to think about. @blizair09"(And it helps that I am a mathematician, a former teacher, a type A personality, and incredibly anal...)" yes I bet that helps! -

How did you do anything else but eat? Really, I'm thinking about my work scheduled and that would be impossible for me. -

Scheduled for my sleeve on Tuesday. 2 week pre op getting old. I'm ready to not have a starving feeling. Lost 22 lbs so far, so that's cool. Ive been practicing with recipes and protein powders. So far I have frozen about 2 gallons of homemade bone broth, tomato basil soup and black bean soup. Made the best lemon ginger sf popsicles. Yummy.

Hello folks
-
I made Ina Garten's roasted tomato basil soup with out the fat. Also a black bean soup from epicurous, puréed to death. Both strained through a fine sieve. I'm hoping to enjoy post op.

Do you HAVE to follow a low carb diet?
Dabearo replied to slimmingsteff's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My vote is to do what is good for you! What feels good to you and accomplishes what you are trying to accomplish. There are millions of opinions and plans. Some work for some, some work for others. However, I do believe in eating clean real food without all the artificial frankenfood stuff. We all know simple carbs are bad juju for your body. But I have a hard time believing the carbs, vitamins, and fiber in a raspberry is bad for me. I did not get fat eating raspberries or a healthy salad. High saturated fats and simple carbs in a fast food burger got me fat. -
I like the power crunch line. Peanut butter and salted caramel are my fav.

Talk to your surgery team and review the education you received before surgery.

10 days after sleeve, all of a sudden bs
Dabearo replied to lizpuller's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Bs can be a tricky thing. See your md that manages your bs and review your food logs with them. Stress, surgery, healing, hormones, all play into bs management. -
Did anyone else not need a endoscopy??
Dabearo replied to rachel_babe's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My insurance required one, egd. Looks for h. Pylori, GERD and signs of general inflammation. All these could be a decision point for a sleeve. Egds are very easy with no prep. Go to sleep, wake up. Done. -
On schedule for June 13th. Getting very worried about being nauseated and throwing up. What was your real experience? What meds did you take to prevent?

Yogurt options pre-op
Dabearo replied to BlessedMomma's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I like siggi brand. It's not Greek, it's skyr. High protein, few ingredients. Real food. One trick I use is putting half a small pack crystal light in the cup of yogurt. Small pack you would use to put in a water bottle. You can make water ever flavor yogurt you want. -

Ok, that's all very helpful. Sounds like it's minimal, manageable, and your medications worked. Ty -
