I had a lot of gas until I was tired of it day 5 post op. I said screw this and bought some gas ex tabs and chewed on them. It kept it in control. I used them kinda like pez for several days. Now, I'd never recommend you take over the recommended dose, but I did. My gas with drinking was ridiculous.

Ha, I have not had a dumping. My nut said no jello. Which is weird. Because everyone here eats jello. I made soups during the phase your in. It helped to do something and it was great.

I'm at about 6 weeks. Finally have a daily bm with any products to help. Improved with a small intake of fruit and veg. Yeah fiber.

@Mersh i haws so hungry week 2-3 post op. Made it through just fine. Puréed and soft phase is better. Not really hungry. Soft proteins work better for first week of soft. Turkey pepperoni and thin sliced Canadian bacon worked great. Low fat high protein. I'm at about week 6. Can only take about 1/4 cup or 2 oz. maybe.

I'm seriously getting pissed off with my stall
Dabearo replied to ayanna_vsg's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Talk to your nut. But I agree with others. Lower the carbs and kcals. 1200-1300 is probably maintenance for many people. Certainly not loosing. Also add some healthy fat . Evoo or some coconut oil. This is assuming you are eating low fat. -
Losing Weight on PreOp Diet
Dabearo replied to Old2NewMe's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I lost 22. But it not really about weight loss. It's about shrinking that fat liver. Follow your diet and the rest of life will happen. -
Lordy. Timely post. Fighting this today. MOM was a dud. Stool softener was a dud. Md office recommended miralax. We shall see. Blizair09. Really? This is the new norm?

Sleeved yesterday I have a mild fever
Dabearo replied to RufusX4M40i's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Other than fever. How you feeling? -
I just poured 8 oz out and beat the hell out of it with a whisk. Add a splash of lime juice. No more bubbles. Left the bottle in frig in opened. I don't seem to be having much problem.

Has anyone tried adding oil to get out of a stall. Sometime the fat is needed if you are on a very low fat diet. oh yes I took a tablespoon of coconut oil. And it did help with digestion, violently! Haha

So How Many Of You Guys Want To Actually Get Down To A Normal BMI?
Dabearo replied to Proud2BMe's topic in The Guys’ Room
My goal is to be able to walk into a regular store and buy and regular normal priced pair of blue jeans and a normal shirt. What ever weight or bmi that is. My goal is not to look like a skeleton. My goal is to have a relationship with food which is manageable and still allows me to enjoy life. Life has food in it, everywhere! But my food relationship will allow me to manage it. -
No support from husband
Dabearo replied to lessoflilo's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
From a guys perspective I would agree with others. It probably more about how his life will change and what it means to him. Additionally if he is not participating in your pre-op classes, he should. It will give him tools to be able to support you. He probably has no idea what is means to him and how to support his wife. Big stressors for a hubby. -
Any prEbiotic powder allowed in the first post surgery time?
Dabearo replied to GotProlactinoma's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
As soon as I could post op I added low volume prObiotic liquid yogurt to my diet. I'm holding off on the probiotics because I'm not sure what would happen when they swell in your new stomach. I believe in replacing healthy bacteria in your guy and do it every day. -
Should I force myself to eat more?
Dabearo replied to avatarkorraa's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Intersecting topic. I'm intrigued on others comments. My nut also said 800 cals until we need to stop loosing weight. Then gradually increase until my body maintains. I'm so far from that right now I'm not going to worry about anything but my protein carbs. -
What was the biggest surprise for you at or after surgery? What do you wish you had known?
Dabearo replied to sunmeadow's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm surprised how hungry I was weeks 2-3 of my full liquids post op. It's a battle between head hungry and real hungry. today is day two of soft food, and I'm not hungry. At all. -
Omg the best mush ever. Never underestimate your ability to chew. Mine was scrambled egg with 1 oz goat cheese, 2oz homemade turkey sausage, cilantro, salsa. So amazing. Ha but it made a lot and it appears it is going to take me all day you eat it. And I'm freaking go with that. what was your first soft meal?

Suture reaction? Infected incisions... Pics
Dabearo replied to Nifty22's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
So I've seen tons of sutures in my life. Some of what you are experiencing is normal. Slight red eyes and small drainage happens, usually not 2 weeks out. But I can't see it for my self. Please oh your your doctor. Infected Abdominal incisions are really bad and call cause long term damage and spread into your belly. They also can be very difficult to heal. Your already going to be nutritionaly compromised for healing. You really do not want it to get out of hand. Go to your md. -
When did y'all have your first bowel movement after surgery??
Dabearo replied to Jrayeb93's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Day 6 for a rabbit pellet and day 8 for normal. I was not to concerned. No pain or cramping, needed narcotics to get out of my body, and oh yah that was no good for days. Imho, unless your hurting don't worry to much, it will all work its way out in the end. -
You have a lifetime to lose weight. Slow and steady. There is no way you will not lose weight on 500 kcals a day. Your body is changing, hormones are changing, you body is saying wtf! Pounds, inches, engery, ability to sit in a chair are all wins. Take them. Get off the scale!

Best soup ideas for gastric sleeve?
Dabearo replied to shericrazylady's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
http://www.foodnetwork.com/recipes/ina-garten/roasted-tomato-basil-soup-recipe-1940376 http://www.epicurious.com/recipes/food/views/black-bean-soup-with-cumin-and-jalapeno-109772 https://minimalistbaker.com/creamy-thai-carrot-soup-with-basil/ these are the three I used post op. All were amazing and puréed very well. I put through a very fine strainer. At takes time, but makes a very silky soup. For each soup i increased the liquid by one cup to make it thinner and purée easier. They frozen great and provided some variety. i can only eat about 1/2 cup at a time and that takes about 20 minutes. I just dipped the spoon in the soup let it run off and then licked it off. No big spoon fulls. They each also hide some chicken flavored protein powder ok. It worked until my brain told my stomach "no more protein powder". Good luck. -
Unless you have some other medical reason, You can have a pill on pre-op. Many folks took their normal medications during pre-op diet. A Benadryl is not going to add to your fatty liver.
