Not going to have any because of where I am in my journey. But.... pumpkin spice cherrios are on the shelves and call me name in the grocery store. Huge trigger food for me, so cereal will not be anytime soon.

I snuck a Tupperware container of raspberries and strawberries into the movies this weekend. It was greatness! I usually take string cheese or a bag of protes chips or maybe nuts. Its good to have a snack during the movies. I have to be careful with the whole eating and drinking at the same time. My stomach usually tells me " no no no". I also order a glass of water and spike it with unsweetened coolaid or crystal light. What have you snuck into the movies?

Contraband at the movies
Dabearo replied to Dabearo's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Today the smuggle was grapes, a baby bell, and whisps. -
These do not work for preop diet. You can make your own bone broth for your preop. Tons of recipes on google.

Most folks are on a oral antacid, protonics, Zantac or something. This allows us to eat spicy. As the antacids are removed we may have more problems with heartburn and spicy foods.

Cool. Thanks everyone. Sounds like if I want a handful of popcorn it may not kill me! Swell to the size of my head and burst my stomach open. I do like popcorn and I working on really not depriving myself of things I like. Just figuring out where it fits into my new life. Right now I'm low carb, below 30/ day, so no popcorn for awhile.

I need ideas for puréed foods
Dabearo replied to graziellabs's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Refried black beans with hot sauce. I made melted velveta (no hate) with lean ground beef, puréed in processor. Add a little salsa. Yummy and kicked my Mexican food craving. Low carb and low ish fat. Pureed pulled pork steammed carrots with ginger or orange. Soups soups and more soups. fall squash is coming into season. Acorn squash, butternut squash spaghetti squash. All of you are getting your protein. I was dying for something fresh and not fake food. So I went to market and cooked fresh stuff as long as I had meet my protein and hydration goals. -
Call your doctor, check your blood pressure and glucose. Eat some carbs! Just a little. I was dizzy and dragging ass until I got my carbs up to around 50.

All I know is I bought some pre-op just to see what the fuss was about. Made a big ole cup of ice cream, and yuck. The lemon cake was awful. I put it on the counter top to wash in the morning. Morning came and there it was, sitting there exactly as I left it. In the same mounded shape with one spoonful missing. It did not melt. In my book that ain't right! #frankenfood

How are you getting your protein in?
Dabearo replied to Hopefull2017's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Ok. That's better. One post you said no shakes and then this post you say two drinks. I'm not sure the difference. But it does not matter, I really wanted to know how you were doing it with out supplemental protein. But you are not. Ty for indulging me for a sec. -
How are you getting your protein in?
Dabearo replied to Hopefull2017's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Wow! What is your protein goal? I'm almost 3 months out and still have to supplement with 1 shake a day. I eat high protein low carb. My goal is 80 grams per day. -
How much can you eat?

Dabearo replied to Véronique's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Ha let'r rip. Mine lasted 5 days. Then I started chewing gas ex like no bodies business. Fixed that problem. The gas pain was awful not matter how much I walked and rolled around. -
Puréed for me was anything you could put through a fine strainer. Eggs etc. was considered soft.

Do a search on this thread. Long post on this topic. My remedy on day 6 post op. 1 cup warm water, 2 teaspoon sea salt, squeeze of lemon. Drink as fast as you can. I took about 30 minutes to drink. Wait 1-1.5 hours. It will come out. MOM did not work for me. Marlax did not work for me.

I loved those preop. Filled you up. Good fiber, worked for many things. Favorite was to make them into a baked burrito. Crunchy! i have not tried them post up. Afraid they are kinda gummy. Plus I have to focus in getting my protein in and have no room for extra non protein stuff.

It took me about 3 weeks to determine my head hungry was real hunger. Nut told me to increase soup thickness slightly, it helped. I dealt with it until I got on softs.

Anyone have a hard time eating breakfast?
Dabearo replied to dreamingsmall's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My new tummy does not like the morning. Even my morning coffee does not feel totally right. Protein shake several hours into the morning goes down ok. I have to save my meds for lunch.
