I've never heard this... I mean they operate on patients with tattoos. Unless your mehndi is on your abdomen [emoji23] I don't see how it would be an issue.

Congratulations!! I just started my pre-op diet today!! I was in the same boat regarding second thoughts because of unsupportive people in my life. But, like you, I had to remind myself that this was for *me* and *my* future! Regarding the unflavored protein, I plan on adding it to unsweetened jello for non-alcoholic jello shots. I'm also going to be making bone broth this weekend, so I'll add some to that as well. Or store bought veggie organic broth?

Yes GNC has it online and I'm not sure if they have it in store. But I know for sure The Voice Shoppe has them in store. Also, they currently have a sale where if you purchase any isopure product, the second is half off. So I just purchased 2 of the 3lb unflavored protein powder!

I'm so sorry you went thru that As you're well aware, there are risks with every procedure. But try to focus on the rewards you'll get from this one!! Good luck! I hope you have a smooth and speedy recovery! [emoji173]️

Hehe I was expecting to get a date for mid to late June so July 5th was alright for me too! My insurance really dragged their feet otherwise I could have had an earlier date. Can't wait for surgery day!! I've started stocking up on protein shakes and other approved stuff for the liquid pre-op/ 1st week of post op diets!

Information seminar: 10/4/2016 Initial consultation: 10/25/2016 6 months of insurance required hoops to jump thru Surgery scheduled for 7/5/2017 So exactly 9 months.

Most YouTube videos I've seen of "what's in my hospital bag" have bath or house robes or strapless flowy dresses. Anything that won't touch or irritate the surgical sites.

Sigh... That's very true. I guess I'm just being paranoid! Thank you both for talking some sense into me lol I would love to be home and in my bed, I just don't want something to go wrong [emoji85]

Because of my very demanding work schedule, I rarely have time to do anything! But I had a shortened shift so I was able to schedule my preadmission testing in. 26 days before the actual surgery date but... My hospital allows it. Anyways, during the visit, I had some lab work down and other final tests. The last bit of the visit was an interview with a nurse. She went over the basics and collected my information as one. One of the things she advised of kind of caught me off guard... She explained that I would only be expected to stay the night of my surgery and most likely be discharged the next morning. Is that normal?! Everywhere I've seen, everyone who has had the surgery stays at least 2 nights, unless there are complications that warrant a longer stay. I don't mind going home early, I'm just concerned what if I don't do something right?! Or what if something goes wrong?! [emoji37] How long was your hospital stay?

Walaikum Asalam Pre-op diets vary from provider to provider, and are generally based on the type of surgery you're having and your overall health (I believe). Some surgeons require 2 weeks, some require 1. Some don't even have a "pre-op" diet other than full liquids the day before surgery.

But when are you getting your water in? My surgeon expects me to get 64+ ounces of water in daily... I can't imagine doing that before suhoor and after iftaar. [emoji29] I feel guilty... But I truly don't think I'd be able to get into ketosis unless I followed the diet my nutritionist/ surgeon provided.
