I can't get used to being thinner!

It's hard for my mind to adjust as well. I'm almost 6 months post op (Gastric Bypass), and I've disowned 113 pounds. I still have about 60 to goal. I still feel morbidly obese. My brother chewed me out on Thanksgiving, because I insisted on sitting in the corner so I wouldn't get in the way of family trying to get past my chair! He was seriously mad at me because he said I was so much smaller and didn't come close to being in the way! Sent from my SM-N920V using BariatricPal mobile app

What foods don't agree with your stomach?

I'm three months out, and still have issues with a lot of food the doctor says I can eat. There are days when all I can eat is string cheese, and sometimes soup. Chicken is not my friend 95% of the time! I take an antacid as prescribed, but I'm seriously considering adding a gas-x tablet to every day just to avoid feeling like crud every single time I eat. Need advice

My husband (will be officially ex soon) was so against me having the bypass, he threatened to leave me! I had the surgery on June 16, 2017. He was gone when I got out of the hospital. I've done it all on my own...complications and all. But the surgery itself was worth every minute. I'm 7 weeks out, 60 pounds down (260 if you count my husband), and off ALL of my meds other than the ones I take for depression and anxiety! Sent from my SM-N920V using BariatricPal mobile app
  6. I'll be getting divorced soon as well. Mine IS because of the surgery. I had an ultimatum. He said if I did the surgery he would divorce me. My gastric bypass was June 16th! Soooo...there ya go! I have a long journey ahead of me, but I've already disowned 52 pounds from my body, and loads of weight from stress! I feel so very much better! Sent from my SM-N920V using BariatricPal mobile app

    Breakfast help

I have the same problem! I can't stand eggs, or cottage cheese. I can't find lower sugar oatmeal that doesn't have cinnamon in it (I love cinnamon, but apparently my post op tummy says no), so I can't even eat that! Protein shakes make me nauseous...no matter how I make them, and I'm sick to death of yogurt with fruit it it! I am just over 4 weeks post op. I have to FORCE myself to eat. This Is So New

You are definitely in my prayers. Drinking water is vital. Getting your vitamins and needed protein is as well. I know it is hard. And set backs are painful. I'm a little less than 3 weeks post op, and finally doing better. You can do it! Good luck! Enjoy your journey! Sent from my SM-N920V using BariatricPal mobile app

    Negative people

Shortly after I wrote this, I ended up in the E.R! That was no fun. I just got home tonight from my little fiasco. Apparently I had a stomach ulcer. And my blood level was dangerously low, plus dehydration. Small set-back, but back on full liquid diet and new meds. Ugh! Sent from my SM-N920V using BariatricPal mobile app

    Negative people

I'm doing ok. Today is post op day 8, so I started my vitamins and full liquid diet. My tummy doesn't seem to appreciate it as much as I thought it would though! I'm doing this alone for now, so I'm making due. Thanks for asking! Sent from my SM-N920V using BariatricPal mobile app

    Surgery day fears

Well, it's official, I worried about passing gas in front of people for nothing! Im alone. My husband really did leave me like he said he would if I had the surgery! He said it may only be for a break "to think about things", but yeah, he left. Didn't even visit me in the hospital or bring me home from the hospital. I'm taking care of mySELF because there is no one else to do it. I sure hope I can come up with some answers before I need to start getting to post op appointments! Surgery day fears

I hope the same thing happens to me when the time comes! I get really embarrassed. I know it's just natural, but still... Sent from my SM-N920V using BariatricPal mobile app

    Surgery day fears

Tomorrow is my turn! I'm doing RNY, not sleeve, but still... I'm not very nervous about the surgery itself, but I am a bit anxious about the anticipated gas pains afterwards. I'm a whimp when it comes to tummy aches and bad gas! And I HATE passing gas in public. Humiliating!! Sigh. But it will be worth it! Sent from my SM-N920V using BariatricPal mobile app
  15. Surgery is happening as planned, on June 16th. I'm so relieved! I was starting to think I was doing this clear liquid diet/torture for nothing!! Well...not nothing really, because I've lost 11 pounds in 4 days! I'll take that as a victory! Sent from my SM-N920V using BariatricPal mobile app
