    August Sleevers-How are you doing??

Yes, I take a multi and b complex plus a proton pump inhibitor. They require every patient take a PPI for 90 days. I start calcium sometime soon. Possibly something else. But I'd definitely do a b complex and multi for now while your diet is still limited.
  2. I'm sorry you need a revision. I never want to go through a sleeve or sleeve type surgery again. You really should not have had a VSG with severe GERD pre-op. In my opinion you shouldn't even have to pay for the revision. I never had GERD before surgery (8/23) and I definitely have it for now even with a PPI. It is relatively mild and still miserable. I feel for you. [emoji171]

I'm the opposite. I can drink an 11 oz premier shake in about 2 minutes. Water and other fluids are more annoying cause it's like I'm a hamster constantly sipping.

I'm anxiously waiting for that day! I'm constantly hot and sweaty. It's awful and gross.

Can I ask how many calories you eat or how much you weighed at surgery? Makes me feel like I'm the tortoise and you're the hare.

    Low carb wraps

Omg my dream first or close to first meal is tuna/chicken salad with apple slices, tomato and lettuce if allowed on low carb/whole wheat pita or Tortilla. I'm only 10 days out so it's very very far away [emoji24]

    August Sleevers-How are you doing??

Oh man the not being able to sleep in the hospital. It was torture. Same thing for my first two nights home. Slept sitting upright on my couch for about an hour at a time. I only had issues with pills in the hospital and it was the feeling that it was stuck when they gave me a Tylenol. I skipped most pills my first two nights home then just cut the huge ones in half and sit in a chair while I slowly take them. Not sure if I wrote that part here [emoji849] I think the dragon breath is ketosis and/or all the artificial sweeteners. I do a pitcher of crystal light instead of G2. G2 is just awful for some reason and regular water taste like ass. I'm curious how much weight you've lost since surgery. I feel like everyone is losing weight like crazy but I've lost roughly 14 lbs. (246 to 232ish). I eat between 700-1000 calories. MFP basically tells me I have an eating disorder.
  9. I added miralax a few days after surgery and have been regular since. It's a different regular but still frequent enough that I stopped miralax after 3 days

Omg I'm right there with you but my day is Wednesday (possibly Thursday?). I refuse to puree foods like chicken salad. Most I've pureed is tomato soup and broccoli cheese soup to make sure it isn't chunky. I have cheated and had half a soft boiled egg. It was heavenly. I'm dreaming of tuna, chicken salad, egg. Anything but the **** I've been eating. I don't even know if I'll make it to Wednesday.

I had severe back pain for a couple of days just from the hospital bed. My back back was easily twice as bad as my stomach/incision pain. I'm so sorry you went through all that vomiting. I just threw up my liquid oxycodone once when my body said not happening lady. It wasn't even serious vomiting and it was awful.

    August Sleevers-How are you doing??

I sleep partially on my side partially on my stomach hugging a body pillow and blanket and I have another body pillow and pillow wedged behind me. As in further out from surgery (9 days) I don't need the blanket and pillow as much. But even in the hospital I slept on my side and had nurses basically tuck me in with pillows on either side and I'd kind of hug the fleece blanket I brought.

My surgeon requires everyone go on a PPI immediately after surgery for at least 90 days. Maybe that could help.
  14. I was sleeved on the 23rd. I was fantastic with liquids first day post op (even though it felt like a ton of bricks) but I had the incentive of going home. The next couple of days I was so good with liquids I was a little concerned I was diluting my blood too much. Since then I've fallen off the rails. Water tastes disgusting, can't have too much diluted juice because calories, but luckily I still enjoy premier protein shakes and I've been getting green iced teas from Starbucks. I'm also not losing much weight. I think I'm only down 10 lbs. It's all so disheartening.

Call your surgeon. It's most likely nothing or something small like the position you're eating in, what you're eating etc but I understand the fear, though differently since I'm only 8 days out. Your surgeon's office is there to help. Are you taking a PPI?

lol I pooped yesterday and it was...interesting. My intestines definitely are of the hoarding variety. I also proceeded to text just about everyone I know that I had pooped.

I'm 1 week out and have only lost 10 lbs but I think my body is holding onto water and I have hashimoto's hypothyroidism. Water tastes disgusting. It causes pain when other liquids don't. I've been doing 1/4 juice and the rest water or crystal light or non-caffeinated iced tea. It's 105 degrees in La so I need so much liquid and I was doing great at first but have fallen behind.

I've read about anesthesia affecting the bladder. The surgery also could have been enough of a shock to your system that your regulating systems are a bit wonky. When I needed to pee in the hospital and couldn't I immediately freaked out cause I read anesthesia can paralyze the bladder. The rest of my roughly 24 hour stay it took a little while to start to pee. Now, a week out, I seem to pee very slowly.

Liquid gabapentin is like **** directly from satans ass hole. I take all my meds in solid pill form just over a long period of time. Still no poo [emoji23] on day three of miralax. Contemplating the murder and BBQ of my adorable dog.

Ugh sorry for being just another person recommending medicinal marijuana you can't have. I just always recommend it cause my friends think it's so incredible for the various, and completely different things that pain them.

    August Sleevers-How are you doing??

I'm 7 days post op and still have gas. I assume I'll have it till I have a BM. I started walking in the hospital and literally the second I got home. I've been doing 1 lap around the block with my dog and mom and last night did about a mile with my neighbor. I still get these awful contraction like pains in my stomach.
  22. I never ever have mine because I take my BC back to back with no gaps. Was sleeved on the 23rd and it sort of started on the 22nd and definitely did the night after surgery. I still have it and I'm taking my pills. I also have tons of mouth ulcers related to my autoimmune disease. I think my body is just totally thrown off and pissed at me.
  23. KateBruin

    Regret but not regret

That's what I do. It's 4 huge pills that I split into 8 large but manageable pills. Do 1-2 every 15 minutes or so. I could probably do it faster but don't want to vomit so slow it is.

    Aug 25 Post Op Update

If you aren't peeing a lot I'd call your surgeon. That's potentially cause for alarm since your body is either holding onto the liquid or you aren't consuming enough. I pee around 6-8x a day and none are small. Could be nothing but I'd let them know. My stomach is still swollen and retaining liquid (sleeved 8/23). My clothes all fit but feel a smidge tight. I also look 7-8 months pregnant [emoji85]

    August Sleevers-How are you doing??

I was paranoid I had a fever because I was released and live in LA where it's hot as balls so I felt feverish but nah, I was just hot. So check your temp then you can relax. I was also coughing up phlegm a lot but I hear that's from the breathing tube. It has also stopped. I was scared shitless of returning to the hospital because the beds were SO bad and my ward had a ton of head and neck surgeries so it was all these people on loud tubes who couldn't speak. Traumatizing even for me just as an onlooker.
