I'm finally home, and just trying to lose the weight I "found" in MI. It wAs a heck of a trip. I am still tired. My grandparents are both 92, and not in the best of health. My grandma has end stage kidney failure. I could see her declining in the 3 weeks I was there. It was quite scary to see. I don't expect her to live until our next trip back (in March) this makes me really sad, but it must be faced. My grandpa is in really bad mental state. He has Altzheimers, but he is not completely gone. In his more lucid times (though fewer and farther between every day) he knows something is wrong with him. He prays and talks to God all day (he was never particularly religious before) It must just be terrible to know you are not right. I keep telling my grandmother he has the mental capacity of a 3 year old, but she won't believe me. She gets so upset and mad when he makes messes, or doesn't do what she tells him to do. I just hope it is over for them soon. I hope that doesn't make me sound like a terrible person, but there is very little quality of life there.... my grandpa with his mental state and my grandma feeling like she is being punished for earlier misdeads by having to take care of him. I won't get too graphic here.... but let's just say it involves a lot of dirty butt wiping. (sorry if still too TMI) On a happier note..... Happy Belated Birthday to Theresa and Gen. Hope they were great. Theresa, hope you had a fun time at the casino..... sorry I was in MI and not able to make it. Did ya win?????........ Looks like we have lots of good losses going on here. Too bad I have managed to find what everyone else lost. My husband got me a Wii fit while we were away. Already managed to hurt myself with it. BEFORE IT WAS EVEN OUT OF THE BOX!!!!! I dropped the box on my foot. Man, was it heavy. Hopefully nothing is broken!!!!! Hope everyone is doing well and getting ready for the Holidays. I really need to get out and get my shopping done or there is going to be one very unhappy little girl her Christmas morning. I did manage to get her 2 Zhou Zouh hamsters, but nothing to go with them. Hopefully I will be able to find some accessories by Christmas. Hope to see everyone soon. -

Today is my one year Bandiversary  I am down 72 pounds. I so wanted to be down 75 by today, but I am happy with the 72. I still have a long way to go, and wish I was one of those people who could say I've lost 100 something in a year... but I will just have to work harder to get there. Looking back on this year.... When I get down about my (in my mind) not fast enough weight loss I sometimes wish I had gone another route (bypass)..... but even while I have these thoughts, I know the band was the right choice for me. Do I regret being banded... never!!!! Any advice to newbies?? E-X-E-R-C-I-S-E I do regret I did not exercise at the beginning. I had some post op complications that made me quite miserable, but I wish I had pushed myself a bit more. I lost 40+ pounds just sitting in my recliner all day/every day. I imaging how much I would have lost had I actually moved around those first few months. I let myself lose focus for a while (3 month plateaus when you are doing everything right can do that to you) In the last month or so I have recommited to my band (I was never too far of the reservation...just not as careful as I could have/should have been) I am watchng what I eat... making better choices. I am also getting more moving in (I hate to call it exercise... that sounds like work :glare:) I will get there... it is just taking a bit longer than I had hoped and planned.

For anyone who wants to use the database to record their loss, here is the link: http://tinyurl.com/ydl69nn This is strictly for those who want to use it.... I'm still keeping track of losses the same way we started. Good luck on Friday, all. -

Oh, Miss Deeeeeeee Are you counting the hours yet?? Did you ever find a nightie to wear post surgery?? Every time I go to Catherines I think of you. I see lots of cute ones there that would work. Also..... remember when we had a thread going about panni support (after you bought the maternity belt?) I found the most wonderful thing on Obesity Help. A woman who said she turns her girdle around!!!! I have been putting my undies on backwards, and it makes a massive difference (not as big as some sort of support thingy.... but soooo much better than when I wear them correctly) Who knew???...... -

So..... I decided to do the 5 day pouch test, hoping I could jump start the weight loss process a bit. (For those who don't know what this is, it is 2 days of liquids/cream soups. Day 3 soft protein, Day 4 firm protein and Day 5 solid protein.) Anyway..... I have done 2 days of liquid proteins (I'm on my 3rd now) and I have GAINED almost 5 pounds!!!! I'm pretty sure that is NOT how this is supposed to work  I'm aware this is not supposed to be to make you lose, but they say most people do lose some during this. I'm darn sure it is not supposed to make you gain!!! I am drinking more than the prescribed 64 ounces and peeing like a race horse So I don't know what is going on. <sigh> -

Do I have losses? How about -4.2 pounds! So excited! WOW. Good for you. I'm impressed! I guess this fill was it, huh?? How are you feeling?? Not too much getting stuck or anything?? Bet you're glad you ate that pizza now. Can we add our starting challenge weight on your list? I forgot what it was and had to go back and look. Sure can! So my starting weight for this challenge was 209.8, my current weight is 205.6. Pretty darn close to Onderland. Hope everyone is doing well. -

15 is doable, especially when you are only a couple of weeks out. That is pretty much 2 pounds a week. I'll put you down for 15.
