Ugh, I am 9 weeks out exactly and feel like the weight loss is way too slow. Did I already stretch my sleeve? I feel like I "can" eat too much. I mean, I try very hard not to, but maybe it's too much? Compared to what I used to eat, it's still dramatically less, and I eat quite healthy at least 90% of the time. I have lost 35 lbs since surgery, but 20 of it was in the first 3 weeks. Is there anything I can do to right the ship? I am going to concentrate much harder on portions, start weighing things again instead of just "eyeballing" it, and push myself to drink more water. I have even started going to the gym, but it's just not falling off. I GAINED a pound from Week 8-Week 9. How is that even possible?!?! I am so discouraged. Please help! Thank you friends!

Hi there! I was sleeved by Dr Hart also, on May 15th, so I'm exactly 8 weeks out today. Lost 35 since surgery, 50 since heaviest weight. I'm doing really well, but I like to drink alcohol a few times a week. Vodka doesn't bother me at all, but trying to find new ideas for mixers. Seems like everything is either sugary or carbonated. Any yummy suggestions for what you drink? Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N920A using BariatricPal mobile app

6 weeks out and already stalling -

I'm also feeling frustrated with a stall so soon. (Sleeved May 17th). Appreciate everyone's feedback that stalls are typical and try to stay encouraged. You're not alone! Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N920A using BariatricPal mobile app -

I am 4.5 weeks post VSG, and I think I just had my first dumping episode! I drank my first cup of coffee (caffeine) with flavored creamer (sugar) and a tiny half-shot of Bailey's (alcohol and more sugar). What in THE WORLD was I thinking?! Please, I implore you, don't make my idiotic mistake. This was the absolute sickest I think I've ever been in my life! A full hour in the bathroom, never feeling confident which end would go first. They most intense gas pain I've ever endured. Sweating, writhing around. Praying God would just take me. If this story helps just one person resist temptation simply by scare-tactic, I'll feel better. [emoji21] Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N920A using BariatricPal mobile app

Hi! I was May 17th also. Tomorrow marks the 4 week mark, and I cannot WAIT to have some salad. [emoji4] I love salad and have missed it so much. I know that I have to ease into it slowly, but it is exciting to be past all these food restrictions. I have lost 24 pounds since surgery and although that doesn't sound like an astonishing result, I feel normal and am okay making some progress. The first two weeks after surgeryor two of the hardest weeks of my life, I was extremely depressed and angry and really regretted my decision. The past 2 weeks have been SO much better. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N920A using BariatricPal mobile app

I am glad you posted this. I am 13 days post-op and have struggled mightily with these feelings. I have been scared to DEATH thinking that exact thing - "Will I ever feel normal again"? My understanding is that in a few months, you'll be out eating regular (good choices) food again, and that the occasional slice of pizza won't kill you. I'm hoping that's the case, anyway, because I can't convince myself to believe I will *never* eat X-food again. I hope to eat WAY less than I used to, but can choose 1-2 bites of something every now and then. I know that it's a personal and individual choice and once your body calms down a bit, YOU get to have the ability to make the choices!

I had absolutely fabulous support from all of my friends and family, and I was still INCREDIBLY depressed for the first 10+ days post-op. I have heard this is fairly common, and will definitely get better. I am so sorry that you have toxic people in your life. You don't need them! Getting on these forums is a great place to start, I think most of us are pretty supportive of each other. Hang in there, and know that you are NOT alone! So many of us have felt the isolation, fear, regret, and sadness. It all levels out in just a few short months. You can do this!!

Not sure if this helps, but rejoice that you feel as good as you do! On days 2-6 post-op, I was a MISERABLE wreck of a person. I was depressed, emotional, tons of gas pain and IV bloat, and I felt awful about everything. The weight will definitely come off given some time, but please take relief that you feel good!

Hi Lici! I'm in Alpharetta and just had my sleeve done by Dr Hart about 9 days before you! So, I won't have a lot of long-term advice, but I am writing because you are on day 4 right now. Days 2-6 were THE ABSOLUTE WORST for me. I was in so much gas pain, and I was hungry, couldn't eat or drink much, felt like crap and was just completely miserable. I was full of regret, and wanted to cry all the time. I was NOT prepared to feel like that! I had no idea I was going to be so unhappy. It scared me! I am telling you this just in case you also feel bad today. I needed to know I wasn't alone, and that these feelings are all very common. They are! Dr Hart told me that lots of people feel depressed or angry (Hangry, I think) and in a few more weeks I'll feel way better. So, just in case you're feeling bad or lonely, or sad, please know that in just a few days to a week or so, it'll be tons better. I'm still struggling with the lifestyle change, but at least I'm not in any pain or discomfort any more. And I'm less than 2 weeks post-op! I hope things are going great for you! But if not, please know it will get better. That's what everyone keeps telling me, and I believe them! Good luck! Erin
