    hello,need some help

I am checking out seminars to be banded in STL, and I am curious what Dr and hospital you have used.
  3. I would like to hear from anyone banded in St Louis - where they went - what doctor they used. Anyone that was a self pay - and the price range. Thanks in advance!

I screwed that one up .. haha .. this question I made is to Hoosierdoula! Sorry - not sure what I am doing here this morning. But still a question I have regarding the success ... as we all want to succeed - and I am not afraid of working hard to achieve the goal, but have tried WW, Curves, Slimfast, Jenny Craig, South Beach, done it all, am so afraid of failure. Seems like weight loss is all about setting yourself up for failure and it scares the crap outta me to fail again. How many times can a person fail. This seems like it works. Does anyone understand what I am saying?

I am thinking of getting banded, but a question I have regarding a comment you made, you have worked hard to get to where you are - what made it easier to do the work with the band, than without it. The not being hungry? I am not questioning you negatively, but want to know what has made it easier to work harder to achieve your goal this time?
  6. Sorry about the title of the thread! I just have so many questions! Can you have this done on a Friday -- be back at work on a Monday - I have a desk job. If a self pay - or even insurance pay - does your boss HAVE to know you are having this done? I would just as well they dont know it. Many issues there. Do all doctors that do the surgery also do the fills? I have not yet gone to a seminar to see what all they have to say. But am seriously thinking of this route. Done all the diets - gung ho for a while, lose some weight, but then when it slows down, I get frustrated - and gain it all back and some. Had both knees replaced in '03 - and the weight is NOT good for my new knees. Someone give me some feedback .. I appreciate it. Thanks - have a great day!

    Approved!

I am new to all this - researching I guess you could say - but why does one have to lose weight BEFORE surgery? :confused2:

    Getting approval

Is it the same requirements to be approved for a lapband - with or without insurance. Do you have the same wait time? I have made no phone calls yet to doctors -- just wondering if someone out there has the answers -- I am in the St Louis Mo area. Thanks!
  9. Hi there, I also wonder about telling or not telling. I do not think my insurance covers WLS - and wouldnt want to tell anyone at work. Wonder about even telling my family, I havent even talked to my Significant Other yet - still in the researching stage. But I want to also know how soon I can go back to work. I get very little vacation - and would love to be able to have it done on a long weekend and go back to work and do my office job. Is that possible?
  10. I definitely need to do something about my weight - tried everything - had bi-lateral knee replacement 4+ yrs ago - and the weight that I am packing isnt helping the knees at all. I am in the St. Louis area, any recommendations on a Dr? I will be self pay - as my insurance doesnt cover WLS - but I am going to check with them. Just wondering if anyone out there has had lapband after a knee replacement? Thanks - this forum is awesome, reminds me of the one I found when I was researching knee replacements. Love it - Thanks!
