Has anyone done the pre-op diet???
Alicia the Lap replied to Rett's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Hi Rett, My doctor put me on Optifast for two weeks (Protein drink) It was good because it prepared me for the op (shrinking my liver) and mentally prepared me to give up my food. I have had it before for 3 months too - the first couple of days are hard and then you body adjusts to it and it gets better. good luck! -
Question on Mexico Docs
Alicia the Lap replied to irishrose's topic in Weight Loss Surgeons & Hospitals
Hello, Why do you get your bands from Mexico? I assume it is cheaper. What is the price difference btwn the US and Mexico? Does private health insurance not cover for most of the cost? I am just curious as we dont have the option in Australia - we pay $3000 with insurance or $11,000 without (aussie dollars) cheers Alicia -

Hello Banders I am a new member and I am excited!!!!!
Alicia the Lap posted a topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Hello Everyone, I was banded on 20th Dec 2005 in The Ave Private Hosp Melbourne Australia - I was scheduled the month before but I changed my mind and changed my mind again. I feel great! Apart from the annoying gas and sometimes shoulder tip pain I am roaring and ready to go. My sister was banded several months ago and she has been sick every day (hence my decision to cancel) But she has now discovered she has gaustones and needs an op to remove the gaubladder. I havent felt hungry at all and forget to drink my Soup. Is it common to feel hungry? I have lost 7 kilos already! Hope you are well! cheers Alicia
