Keep me posted.Actually I will be in South Jersey both the end of June and again in August. My daughter and the rest of my family are still there. I go back alot. I miss home.

Hi Michelle. "Mo" I called today and yes I do have to stay over night. What hospital did you have your surgery and how was it. Just a little nervous. Not thrilled to stay over nitewish me luck. I'll keep you posted.

Hi Denise, that's Harley my 3yr old Bichon who is spoiled rotten. And my kids remind me all the time how he is more spoiled the them. Of course I never have to stay up all night waiting for him to come home. My grandaughter is 12 going on 4o and you know what they say what goes around, comes around. Ain't being a grandmother grand. :smile2: Carol

Thanks Jackie for the warm welcome..It's good to know there is a place to go when you need the support, for what ever. It's taking me a little time to navigate the site, but I'm getting the hang of it. I will keep you posted. Thanks again, I'm sure I will have lots of questions.

Hi all, I'm alittle new at all of this, took me a while to find this thread, thanks to Janet, Terry and all who have responded to my post. This site is going to be an important tool for my journey, just as much as the band itself. I'm now 8 days out, surgery is 4/21 and each day I have a differant emotion. I can use all the support I can get. My family is behind me 100%, but it's nice to have support from those who are on the same journey. Carol

Maybe they will give me a pre-op diet this Wednesday at my pre-op meeting. Even if they don't I will do it myself, just to get in the groove. The hardest will be chewing slow and not drinking with my meal. how long did it take to get use to that. Enjoy your trip,:biggrin: I will keep you posted. Carol

Hi Michelle, My surgery is 4/21 with Dr. Atkinson, how long did they keep you in the hospital. I have my pre-op on Wednesday this week not sure what to expect. My surgery was scheduled for May then my Insurance changed to HPN. The good news was My sergery is a month sooner. Most likely because the new insurance only p/u $5000 and I get to take care of the rest. I think it worth it. I'll keep you posted. Carol

I'm having my surgery here in LV, not sure if anyone is from this area. :Angel_anim:My kids are both grown and have moved back to the east coast. So right now it's just myself and my husband, and I can't forget my two dogs Harley and BooBoo.:scared2: Can anyone tell me how long it took to feel good enough to trave:plane:l, I have my mom's 80th the end of June and my sisters 3rd wedding in august. I'm in Las Vegas and the cost out of pocket is $16,000 I know this because my insurance will only p/u $5000 total. Can't wait. Surgery date is 4/21,

I was such a diet pepsi and diet dr pepper freek, now I am hooked on diet peach snapple, not sure if thats good or not, surgery is scheduled for May 13th Now I have to get used to drinking more water. That's going to be the hard part. Any suggestions? Carol LV

Mary, Sorry I don't have tricare, I have Loomis and I am still waiting for approval. Because of my insurance I had to do a 3 month dr. supervised diet. Once I finished that I had my psych evaluation and lab work and testing done. At that point when I dropped of all my results and they check that I turned in everything they gave me an appointment which is this week. So really it depends on how soon you get the tests done . They will give you a packet showing you the timeline for everything. Good Luck Carol LV

Hi Mary, I have an appointment with doctor Atkinson this week for my consult, from what I unserstand he is the best in the area. My PC doctor also recommended him. I went to his seminar and really liked him, also the girls in his office so far have been great. Sometimes you have to keep on them to return phone calls, other then that so far so good. Hi, I'm new, having my consult with surgeon on Friday, Can any one suggest a protein drink that does not have the gritty texture to it? That is going to be my biggest problem with getting all my protein in the beginning. Help Carol Lv
