I am 3 days out of surgery. The first 1.5 days, I was very nauseous without meds, then this seemed to just disappear almost instantly the end of day 2. I have had a bowel movement and passed gas, the whole 9 yards, so my nurse told me to move on to phase #2 which is where I am at. I currently feel bloated and my stomach looks very bloated, even though I've been walking a lot, starting at the hospital. The reason I bring this up, is because I constantly feel "full" which I assume is the bloat I am currently experiencing. When I eat or drink according to the guidelines, I never feel nauseous or "full" from the full liquid diet; rather, I just feel this bloat all the time. Is this normal? When does all this bloat go away? I look and feel like a blimp, and I am having a hard time knowing when to stop eating because I always feel "full" from this bloat and I can't distinguish it from being "full." How do I know when I've actually eaten enough?
