It sucks, girlfriend. No pussyfooting around it. And it will suck a few more times until surgery. I can say without reservation it was the hardest thing I've done. Think long term. If you don't power through this, your surgeon can't get to your stomach and you'll have to do it even longer! Keep the faith!

It does get better. I had a couple of key moments where I got angry and depressed and wanted to go to a fast food restaurant and order one of everything on the menu. But somewhere in the frustration my brain told me that I needed to sit with those emotions and push through them. I'm only a week post surgery and I'm learning more and more how difficult this path really is but will be completely worth it.
