  1. Hi there. Wondering if anyone can recommend a DS doctor in Tijuana. Thanks so much, in advance!

    SIPS surgery

I am. But not until June.
  3. Hi there. I had the gastric sleeve performed in December of 2014 and have since then gained nearly all of my weight back. I'd really love to hear from someone who has had a similar experience who then went on to have a conversion to the DS or SADI/Loop. Has anyone had much success? Failure? I would really love to hear from anyone, as it's so hard to find any information on this! Thank you very much in advance for your time and kindness. juju

Who was the second doctor? Or are you talking about Dr. Illian still. Sorry.

He's an amazing doctor. I had a hard time gettingrespinses from his coordinator Bill, though. Dr. Illian actually called me personally when I could get through to him. When's your surgery? Please keep us aupdated! I'm most concerned with lose BMs and odor!

To be fair, Dr. Illian didn't want to do my DS because I was not very overweight. He said it would be too drastic for me. Which the traditional DS probably would be, but I think the SADI/SIPS would be less drastic. Even so, I don't think he was really doing them Then, but I'm sure he could. He is a very talented surgeon. And also works weekly as a trauma Surgeon, which I oils imagine keeps his skills very sharp!

Not until mid-June of next year, unfortunately. I had to cancel this summer due to knee surgery. Keep me updated!

Dr. Illian did my gastric sleeve and was amazing. However, he would not do a DS when my sleeve failed. He wanted to do a mini-bypass. I don't think he does them, or has much experience. Look into Dr. Alejandro Lopez. That is who I'm going to go with. I have spoken with a few people who had the SADI/SIPS with him. Let me know if you want the contact info. Good luck!
  9. I am really having a tough time making this decision, and I could really use some advice maybe from some vets or people that started out with a lower BMI (like 32). I would really appreciate any input you can offer! Thanks so much! I was sleeved in Mexico in Dec 2014 with a bmi of about 32, at 5'3" and 182 pounds. I thought I had found the miracle cure! I Lost about 30 pounds (out of the 50 that I wanted to lose) in the first four moths, and had to work hard for about another year to keep it off. Then I tore my meniscus in June of 2016, and was unable to do my walks/hikes, and have since put back on 15 of the original 30 that I lost. So probably not really worth it for me, in the long run. I have put a deposit down for DS in Mexico in July, but I'm scared, and my husband is not supportive, especially since I'm only 30-35 pounds overweight. I'm not even sure that DS would get me where I want to be. Also, I'm a vegetarian, so I think the protein might be difficult for me. Please, any advice with any of these issues (low BmI, sleeve failure, vegetarian) would be so helpful! Tell me to go for it or tell me it won't get me where I want to be. Anything! Thank you so much for your support!

Feeling So Anxious GS to DS due 9th June 2017

Wow. Your story seems similar to mine. I chickened out of the DS at the last minute, and now wish I hadn't. You'll be fine, as so many others here have been . Best of luck to you! Please do keep us updated. I am going to give it one more year and then reevaluate.

How to decide on best surgery

I have only lost and kept off a total of 17 pounds on the sleeve (out of 51). I work out and eat meticulously. I'm converting to the DS (sadi-s) next month. I figure I'm halfway there already. The sleeve is turning out to not have such great long-term success. I am reading about lots of failures, and I for that profile to the t. Wish I had just done the DS the first time.
