Frustrated because of stalled weight loss
niseys4 replied to NewWoman18!!'s topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Yes all she did was give me a copy of a sample menu & told me to not eat more than a 1,000 cal per day! But I noticed this cute little small plate that was divided into 3 section. I asked her about it, first she told me she bought it from target & then told me that that plate can hold 1 cup of food which is what my entire meal should be for each sitting! that was a encouraging reminder so she did help a little![emoji4] Sent from my SM-T530NU using BariatricPal mobile app -

I’m Interested-What Kind/Brand Of Protein Is Everyone On?
niseys4 replied to MACPOWER's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I ve tried premier after my surgry & it made me sick. I tried the Isopure but it foams up too much & it cakes up in hot drinks like coffee! Im now using Garden of Life raw meal replacement, vanilla. It works great with water, almond milk & hot coffee! Im 8 months post op & sometimes I dont feel like eating breakfast so put my protein with a teaspoon of coconut oil in my coffee! Very filling for me! By the way I can now drink premier again! Sent from my SM-T530NU using BariatricPal mobile app -

Ok heres why I feel Kaiser is the best @ WLS in my opinion. Both of my adult daughters & 1 of my sisters had WLS all have different insurances but they did not have the before wls education like kaiser offers. so they experienced some complications that couldve been avoided! For example they were tested for the H-plora virus but not informed that they were positive & treated before the surgery so both my daughters had to suffer with that terrible, terrible pain & had to take very strong antibiotics! 1 of my daughters who just 2 mos ago had her surgery not only had to suffer with the H-Plora but had to be hospitalized for 4 days because her surgeon stapled part of her stomach to narrow which made her suffer with reflux! Shes better now & has lost 30lbs since her surgery! My sister is a year post op & is still having trouble reaching her protein & calorie goals due to the fact that she was not educated enough on how to eat after wls like Kaiser teaches! I have read other sad experiences plus the nurse that was taking care of my daughter while in the hospital mentioned how the kaiser patience were treated better compared to others with a different insurance. Meaning that kaiser offered more treatment coverage! So this is some of the reasons that lead me to believe Kaiser has the best WLS program other than for those who pay out of pocket with PPO insurance! -

My surgery was orginally scheduled for November 1st but i called to check to see if there were any cancellations, there were so thats how I got the August date! By the way, i had my surgery @ St. BERNADINE IN San bernadino. Nòw I hear they are now doing the surgerys@the Kaiser in ontario! Dont worry, Kaiser is the best @ doing WLS! Its 11:30pm so I'll tell you why I that tomorrow!😊 -

HEALTHY Vegan/Vegetarian Recipe Swap and Pics!
niseys4 replied to Newme17's topic in Vegetarian or Vegan Eating
Thank you! I have forgotten that you can soak the beans first. My mom used to soak the dry beans in baking soda for a few hours before cooking them! What about can beans? I thoroughly rinse them but still get the gas. Not as bad though! -

Yes, I agree with Fluffy chick! They taste good on the first bite then the taste changes! Has anyone tried or heard of Papa Steve's No Junk Raw protein bars? This company is based in Southern California which is where i live. These bars are made fresh daily, has lots of great reviews but they are pretty expensive! I went to the papa stevies website where I found a variety pack for $34. A package of 10 with 1 flavor cost that much on Amazon!

Thank you GotPro! I think your weight loss is pretty good! Losing it slow to me is the best way to go cause then you dont have to worry about your skin flabing so much! Being 62 I learned that i will have some flabby skin but im not ready to except that! Thats why I read up on taking more collegan to help replace whats lost thru aging! I've add more citrus fruits( now that im off all meds) and I might add collegan powder to my protein shakes! I'll check with my Dr first of course!😄 Keep up the good work that your doing & I wish you well!

Wow! Congrats on reaching your year goal! I showed your current pics to my husband & he couldnt believe you were ever over weight! Now hes excited to see how I will look in 8mos. I'll be 1 year po then! I love to hear that your Mom was your greastest supporter! It looks like you listened to her advice as well![emoji16] I have 2 daughters and 1 sister who were sleeved so we are each others support group! My sister who is 50 somthing was sleeved a year ago & looks great! My oldest was sleeved 8 mos ago @ age 40 & is 72lbs down. my youngest daughter was sleeved just 3 weeks ago @ 36 yrs old! She has already lost 25 Lbs! Me... well im 62 & wish I couldve done this when I was in my 30s. So you getting this done while your young is a really smart thing! Please Never forget where you were & what it took to get to where you are now that way you'll stay on track![emoji1] Sent from my SM-T530NU using BariatricPal mobile app
