Any August 2017 Sleevers?
niseys4 replied to Jessalene's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hello everyone! Well i am now 2 days post op! Here was my experiance. I was schedule to come to register & pay my $300 co pay at 6:30 am. We arrived 15mins early & had to wait for 20 mins to come register. Ok so that was done. After we register & finally go into the pre op room where they weigh you & take ur vitals. So after another 15 mins. I was taken down the to the other end of the room & given my surgerical gown & to put the IV in, that hurt btw, I think the RN was a little ruff because it was just routine for her do that. Now the other RN who gave me the blood thinner shot was very gentle. So all that was done. It took another 3 hrs to go in to have my surgery. Even though I was told I was Dr Fordorkas first patient it still took him that long to come get me. SO it was from 6:15-11am to get my surgery started. When I was waken up from that wonderful sleep it was about noon time. No here is the worse part: i stayed in the recovery room for 5 hours waiting for hospital room! My family was very upset because they were waiting for all that time with no one coming to update them on my status! It was 5pm when I finally got into my room![emoji35] But after all that waiting my surgery went well. My pain stayed between the 3-4 mark on the pain chart. The,first thing I did before they hook me up with all the omitors & stuff I used the rest & walk a little! My nurses all thought I was their super star patient. They didnt expect me to go pee or walk so soon! They didnt know that my goal was go home in Less than 24 hrs in order to get some of my copay back. You see kaiser told me if i stayed in the hospital for less than 24hrs then my copay would only be $124. So if they didnt make me wait so long just get my surgery done I wouldve made & got some of my copay back. Plus I over heard that Dr Fordorka is a very slow doctor! But for me he did a very good job on me![emoji16] Sent from my SM-T530NU using BariatricPal mobile app -

Gym or no gym, that is the question
niseys4 replied to AZBlackhawk's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
How long after the surgery is the standard wait time before you can go back to the gym? For example I was doing water aerobics & using resistant machines 3x a week. I hope the wait will not be too long so I can go back to working on getting rid of my flabby skin! Sent from my SM-T530NU using BariatricPal mobile app -
Glad to read this from you olgark! I will be sleeved in 2 days & was wondering if I can do the Keto diet afterwards? How do you feel about Ketogenics? Sent from my SM-T530NU using BariatricPal mobile app

niseys4 replied to Jessalene's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hey Im Aug. 16th too!![emoji38] Im getting excited. I dont have to go on a liquid diet until tuesday officially but im starting on a liquid diet on my own on Sunday. I want to make sure I dont gain any weight so my surgery wont get cancelled! These last few days I have been eating all the foods ( in moderation of course) I know I may never eat again! Getting it ll out of my system so I can mindfully eat completely 100% healthy for the rest of my life! AUGUST 16 HERE WE COME!!!!!! As for wanting to crunch on something, I read where someone ate ice chips for that crunch! You can even add something like Crystal light to the water before freezing it to make it more enjoyable![emoji6] Sent from my SM-T530NU using BariatricPal mobile app -

Hi mem1! I too am 62 my BMI is 39 but due to being diabetic I decided to go ahead & have the gastric sleeve. My surgery is Aug. 16th ( just 6 day to go). When I first started this I was taking 2 classes with Kaiser, the Healthy Balance & the Options class for Bariactric Surgery. These classes helped a lot to finally lose weight without dieting. When I started back in February 2017 I weighed 220. So when I got down to 211 thought " well shoot! If I can loose this much weight by simply changing my eating habits to a more healthy way without dieting why have the surgery?" I felt I could do it on my own! Well my weight started doing the Yo-Yo thing just as before. And when I spoke to my Bariactric Dr. ( not the surgeon) he gave me a very easy to understand illustration on how by not getting the surgery while I still can, age wise, that my diabetes symptoms will only get worse the longer I have it & that the surgery will make it go into remission! So its for those health reasons I decided to go ahead with the surgery. Even though my current weight is now at 208, im afraid of it yo-yoing again![emoji38] Sent from my SM-T530NU using BariatricPal mobile app

Weight loss journey book?
niseys4 replied to Pakko's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I think that would be a nice idea! Kinda like a food diary. Write down your ups & your downs. Write how you were able to turn your negatives into positives & how you were able to accomplish you goals from the begining! Just a suggestion! Sent from my SM-T530NU using BariatricPal mobile app -

Hello all my August Sleevers! I want to also wish all the early sleevers a speedy recover & hope all went well! My date is the 16th & I have my pre op appt this friday the 4th! Thanks to my sister & daughters (1 is 3 mos post op) I know what to expect or what could happen post op! Im 4yrs older than my sister who lost her weight fast, unintentionaly, her hair & experienced the dumping syndrome. My daughter is doing Great! I hope my experience will be most like hers. The day of her surgery she was drinking her water very well. No sipping & was released from the hospital the next early afternoon! She also had no hair loss. She said her worse experience was the pain from the gas. I was there & she was acting like she was giving birth to her 1st baby![emoji23] she has no children but now she has an idea what labor pains feel like![emoji38] so far all I think about, after eating really healthy & well, is to go out & eat at some of the new resturants that has opened up here in San Bernardino county, Ca. Before I may have to go on a week of possibly an all liquid diet! But its 11:48pm (california time) wednesday night. that only leaves me 1 day before my pre op appt. So Ill settle for this 1 place called Habit! I hear they serve very good burgers! Well Im looking forward to hearing the experiences from those August Post op sleevers! Hello everyone! I havent had my sleeve yet. Im scheduled for Aug. 16th. However, My Sister & 1 of my daughters have! They have told me their storys of their pros & cons of their post op diets. So I've started to do more research & I found that Ketogenics might be a good eating program FOR ME, to try now & after my surgery. Check out Dr Eric Berg on youtube under keto diet. He is very informative & explains things that are easy to understand! For Example: he mentions how Apple Cider Vinegar helps to put your body back to it's natural Ph balance which helps with weight loss, constipation, etc. Most of you may already know about the benefits of Apple Cider Vinegar. I did too but the way he explains it was way more informative!! Amazing info![emoji106] So check him out. You just might loose your frustrations! Sent from my SM-T530NU using BariatricPal mobile app
