    Stupid stall

I went through the same thing! I kept complaining to my husband and I'm not losing weight, I'm not losing weight, why not? LOL! Then all of the sudden I dropped like 15 pounds. It will happen, be patient! I'm over a year out now and I'm at Michael way and I'm a happy camper. I've been able to maintain my weight very well. So keep on keeping on! Do what you're supposed to do and the weight will just melt away. I promise! Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G928A using BariatricPal mobile app

    Protein Cookie?

You don't think that losing 10 lbs a week is not crazy weight loss!? Did you mean 10 pounds a month? My average the first three to four months was 17 lb a month and I thought that was amazing. Surely you're not thinking that 10 lb a week is not crazy awesome weight loss! I'm glad you posted about the carbs because I really wasn't sure how many carbs I should be aiming towards a day myself. I'm 5 months post up now gastric bypass. I've lost 65 lb and I'm happy happy happy. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G928A using BariatricPal mobile app

You must be so thrilled! You look amazing and I'm sure you feel so much better physically and emotionally. Sometimes this process happened so quickly that I feel like my head is spinning. Do you ever feel that way? It's like, not too long ago, I was really really heavy, and in a short amount of time relatively, I'm not having any more. It's surreal isn't it? It's a journey filled with excitement, disappointments along the way, nausea, Elation, you name it and we go through it! It certainly isn't the easy way out, but it is an amazing surgery, no matter what type you choose, with amazing results and hopefully life-changing ones. Congratulations on the new year and many many years of Health ahead of you. God is good, yes? Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G928A using BariatricPal mobile app

    Stalls are such jerks!

In the first three months I had kick ass weight loss then at the end of 3 months things really slow down and I thought I was stuck. The scale just wouldn't budge no matter what! Right about that time I also twisted my ankle and fell so I couldn't go to the gym for 2 weeks. I was freaked out because I thought two weeks without the gym would even make things worse. However, after a two to three-week so-called stall, or no weight loss, then two weeks of not being able to go to the gym I lost 8 pounds! I think not going to the gym 6 days a week and pushing like crazy was the key. So now I'm down 10 pounds! At 4 weeks yesterday I have lost a little over 60 lb and am 10 lbs from goal! I think I'm going to lower my goal weight now that I'm so close to it. I definitely could handle losing another 15 lb instead of 10. I was fortunate that I did not have hundreds of pounds to lose so I'm getting to go very quickly. I'm thrilled with the process so far. I'm still having trouble getting all my food in. I haven't been able to eat as many meals per day as I would like to. And I am getting nauseous still after I eat. I know it takes time and I am patient and have all the time in the world! Not buying new clothes till at goal.

I agree with everybody else! I swore I was going to wait till I was very close to goal to buy more clothes. I'm three and a half months out and at about 2 months my shirts would just falling off of me and I could wear them as dresses! A lot of my shirts that I wore over leggings I now wear to bed at night! I was lucky that I could buy a lot of my clothes from the shopping channels as fall was coming and all the summer stuff was on clearance. Since I live in Hawaii I wear summer clothes all year long. So now at three and a half months out and 15 lb from goal I pretty much have a new wardrobe albeit a small one, and I will have to buy a few more pieces once I get to goal. Goodwill and thrift stores are a great idea! Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G928A using BariatricPal mobile app

  10. I'm almost 4 months out and I have a drink several times a week. I only have one per day. One time I had two and I felt icky. So I keep it to one, and I feel relaxed and satisfied with that! It hasn't slowed my weight loss. I drink gluten free vodka with vitamine water! I tried a glass of red wine but it gave me a hella headache!
  11. Sauteed zucchini was the first veggie I tried. I sauteed it with a little olive oil and some light fresh herbs. It was delicious Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G928A using BariatricPal mobile app
  12. My starting weight was also 223! I'm five-six, five-seven. My surgery date was June 7th. Right now I weigh 168. My goal weight is 145. We are on a very similar path! Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G928A using BariatricPal mobile app
  13. Do you notice any slowing of your weight loss? I am 3 months out as well. I just started having a vodka with Vitamin Water zero as well! I usually just have one and that's plenty. One time I did have two and I felt a little icky afterwards. I got a headache.! I only just started doing this so I'm not sure if it is going to affect my weight loss or not. What have you noticed? Did your doctor clear you? I hear many different things about when it is safe to introduce alcohol back into your life. At 3 months post-op I would think that our stomachs are pretty much healed and that one drink here and there would not heard it. But I'm not positive! I have not asked my doctor yet. False scale readings?

I was a little slow getting started after my gastric bypass after 3 weeks I had lost 17 lb and I was a little disappointed. Am I doctor asked me when was the last time you lost 17 lb in 3 weeks! And that made me feel silly! Consequently, the next week I lost 10 lb! One night I had to pee like 6 times during the night and I felt like I was losing weight during those hours! And I actually was! I weighed myself each time after I went to the bathroom and the scale went down every hour! You will find that you will lose a bunch of weight and then it'll level out for a while and then you'll lose a bunch of weight again. I'm 3 months post-op now and have lost 51 pounds! I had to buy all new clothes already and I still have weight to lose of course! My weight loss has a pattern to it. You may find that yours will as well. Everybody told me not to wait every day but I can't help it! However I do understand all of the factors involved and like someone else said it is interesting to see what does cause a little bit of water retention, bloating, Etc. I think that helps us to be more aware of what foods are good weight loss foods and what foods may not be. Hope this helps! Just hang in there and relax and let this wonderful process do its thing! Non supportive support system

My husband is my biggest supporter as well as my daughter. Other people that I have told don't seem to have a good reaction. I have gotten many rude and ignorant comments. It is a shame that some people do think this is the easy way out! They have no idea do they? LOL and some people make comments about my vanity, like the things we do for vanity! I try to stay calm and tell them the surgery is not for vanity it is for survival and health. It really gets me that I have to defend myself. I'm getting to the point where I don't anymore. I really don't care what they think. All I care about is being healthy and living a happy fulfilled life! I'm 3 months post-op gastric bypass. I've lost over 50 pounds and and feeling so much better and I'm so much happier. So hang in there and don't listen to the naysayers just listen to your heart!
