I bought whey protein powder and thought it would be a good idea to put it in my cup of morning coffee, however, it alters the flavor, even after adding creamer. The weird thing is it says it's unflavored. What are some of best items food/drink to put this protein powder in? If you have a suggestion for a better protein powder to buy as well it would be appreciated.

I have a question about how others are making sure that they are meeting the requirements for protein intake. How are you doing this? I eat so little and am starting to get worried about how I can make sure I get enough protein daily. Just an FYI, I take medications for mental health that make me not hungry at all, so that also cut down on the amount of food I intake.

This is so confusing to me, because I know that they want me to get 65g of protein. I'm four years (almost) post-op and I've read different forums on here and I'm still worried....

Feeling much better since my second follow-up with my WLS team yesterday. I went without being seen by them for like 3-4 years (I know that's terrible). I am definitely back on track and eating healthier again, although I never really was eating unhealthy while I was on hiatus. I dropped a lot of the weight I gained when I finally found a healthy relationship too! My fiancé is now thinking of having WLS too. I am excited because I am only about 40 lbs away from my goal weight.

Carbonated (Sparkling) Water, yes or no?
biancan2ckyw posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I have trouble drinking standard water, and so I have started drinking sparkling flavored water. My fiancé just showed me a YouTube video of a gentlemen about to take the bariatric journey and one of the things he said is no carbonated beverages whatsoever. Is this true? What are your thoughts on this? I had surgery five years ago and just recently started drinking the flavored sparkling water.- 6 replies

I had gastric bypass surgery almost four years ago and I still have issues with upset stomach and dumping syndrome. Is this normal, or am I doing something wrong? Sent from my SM-G930P using BariatricPal mobile app

Yes, I feel much better that way. However, the thing that's been worrying me lately is the sudden drops in blood sugar (my lowest has been 42), I was told it probably was too many carbs in the meal I ate. I have really gotten off track with my health lifestyle or it seems to feel that way...

I am having a difficult time trying to limit carbs, but I mainly eat proteins and vegetables first when I do have a meal and limit the carbs to being the last thing I eat, this way I only have enough room for maybe one bite of carbs. This morning I ate a Berry Trio cup from Starbucks about 3/4 of it and didn't finish it. Around an hour later I had a major upset stomach. I have also had to limit my intake of lactose because of the surgery as well. Lactose makes me super sick to my stomach now. I just feel like I am failing at eating healthy.
