Help! Weight gain probs. Snack suggestions.
Dametris replied to goldenbarbie's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
OMG! I'm 2yrs postop VSG and your statement hit my situation right on target. I'm starting my reset this week, I've been luck to have only gained 11lbs in the past year but I don't want this to get out of control. I didn't want to loose any more weight after having my plastic surgery of fat transfer so I begin eating more. Thanks for sharing & keep us postedπ€© Sent from my SM-G955U using BariatricPal mobile app -
I'm 5 months postop as of 11/1/17 & I truly hadn't compared any of my photos until lastweek, and it almost floored me... the photo on the left was on 11/4/17 & the one on the right was 3/7/17. I'm 60+ pounds down & 1 pound from my goal weight! HW: 247 VSG:6/1/17 CW:186(11/04/17) GW:185π

Did I Stretch My Stomatch?
Dametris replied to KeileeWilliams's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
It can happen, What I've done is go back to the basics doing 3 protien shakes a day with a high protien low carb meal once a day for 5days. Some call this a sleeve reset, but it works trust me. And remeber to keep your bowels moving[emoji41] HW: 247 VSG:6/1/17 CW:177(03/17/18) GW:185π -

I did, I began taking 10,000 biotin a day at 3months POSTOP but it didn't make a difference. My hair loss is just slowing down I'm almost 10 months POSTOP HW: 247 VSG:6/1/17 CW:177(03/17/18) GW:185π

I hated it! I purchased 6 bottles pre surgery and I still have 5 bottles in my fridge ( I'm almost 1 year post surgery [emoji23]) I did homemade bone broth after surgery as my clear protien. Plus keep in mind your not gonna take in much with exception of water & broth the first few weeks [emoji41] HW: 247 VSG:6/1/17 CW:177(03/17/18) GW:185π

I only told my hubby & 5 others, People are so judgemental therefore to prevent me from loosing my cool I told only a select few. When I'm at family functions or eating with friends I just say I'm managing my portion control (which is true) HW: 247 VSG:6/1/17 CW:177(03/17/18) GW:185π

I never swayed from my surgeons instructions thru 8 weeks (that is when I went to regular diet). I start my day with a premier protein shake, I eat @ 5 small meals per day that consist of high protein low /no carbs & I only drink water adding 100% cranberry juice (for flavor) I have yet to drink any alcohol since pre-op 5/15. I dont eat much red meat & I don't eat fried foods, breads, rice, etc I have an elliptical exercise machine at home because I hate the gym atmosphere & I try to use it at least 2 times per week for an hour (but i have not been consistent). I have purchased some free weights and a jumping rope but I have yet to start using them. My weight loss is mostly from my diet and liquid intake hardly any exercise, & I have minimal excess skin.

I have only 1 regret not doing it sooner! My days after surgery where ok not much pain only issue was the gas it lasted a week but that was my only issue. HW: 247 VSG:6/1/17 CW:186(11/04/17) GW:185π -

We must relearn our new tummies [emoji41] prior to VSG I loved salads, but POSTOP I can't tolerate salad this frustrated me because I waited & longed for a salad after surgery but now I can no longer enjoy it[emoji41] HW: 247 VSG:6/1/17 CW:186(11/04/17) GW:185π -

Thnx, the above was my preop diet per my surgeon, doing the preop for 2 weeks has shown effective for breaking a long stall & dealing w/ cravings. I haven't experienced a long stall, but suggested it after reading the original post. HW: 247 VSG:6/1/17 CW:186(11/04/17) GW:185π

The day after surgery you should have a leak test that's ordered by your surgeon, it will ease your worries ( but the solution you must drink is horrible[emoji21]) plus your probally just nervous over thinking the procedure because your getting close[emoji41] good luck you'll be fine! Hello everyone π I was sleeved June 1st and I've never felt better. I'm 1 pound away from my GW & that's exciting but scary being it's only been 6months & I'm still loosing @ half lb per week! My surgeon wanted me in the 150's but I know I would be frail/sick looking (b/c of my height of 5'8")so I stayed focused on my goal POSTOP and I feel super & look gorgeous (if I must say). I'm no longer on meds for high bp & my feet no longer swell after a long dayπ Congrats to all of us on this "New lease on life"[emoji41] HW: 247 VSG:6/1/17 CW:186(11/04/17) GW:185π

I only experience hiccups when I overeat, but I burp all the time[emoji21] & have been since @ week 4 POSTOP I assume it's a part of life now HW: 247 VSG:6/1/17 CW:186(11/04/17) GW:185π

WHATS THE LONGEST STALL YOU'VE HAD???
Dametris replied to ThickGirl5683's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
My longest stall was 1 month, but remember you must set your goal weight not your surgeon, mines wanted me at 150 but I love my body & look now at 186 [emoji41] I knew I would be frail/sick looking at 150π HW: 247 VSG:6/1/17 CW:186(11/04/17) GW:185π -
The constipation issues are very real for us, I use murilax every other day & I also take milk of magnesia once a week (you can get them both at Wal-Mart over the counter). This has kept me on track plus constipation will interfere with your weight loss[emoji41] HW: 247 VSG:6/1/17 CW:186(11/04/17) GW:185π

I've not experienced this, but I've seen many vlogs on this subject on Youtube. Try the preop liquid diet for 2weeks to reset your cravings & tastebuds. This should also jump start your weight lost again. Here is my preop: 4 PREMIER protien shakes a day & 1 meal (meats & veggies only) max daily intake 1100 caloriesπ Also be sure to keep your bowels moving constipation interferes with weight loss & DRINK PLENTY OF WATER & TAKE YOUR VITAMINS[emoji41] HW: 247 VSG:6/1/17 CW:186(11/04/17) GW:185π

You'll do fine just remain encouraged. I was sleeved June 1st & the ONLY regret I have is not doing it sooner[emoji41] Yes the starting changes are difficult in the beginning but when see the weight melting off you'll be excited! I'm 1 pound away from my goal weight & it's only been 6months do remain encouraged & follow your surgeon's plan. I also watched numerous YouTube vlogs also they're very informational πHW: 247 VSG:6/1/17 CW:186(11/04/17) GW:185π
