    July Sleevers!!!

So I was sleeved Wednesday and I'm able to drink/eat jello about 4 oz at time and sip about 6 oz of soup in an hour. I don't feel pain, full, hungry. Anyone else able to eat/drink so much on first few days?

Anyone in Palm Beach County, FL?

I'm 39 and in same area. How are you all doing? Have you had surgery? Who are your surgeons? I'm scheduled for July 26

    Pain medication concerns

It sounds like what you are experiencing is opiate withdrawal. Just push through it and it will stop. You can expect it to last around 7-10 days.
  5. I do not own a scale and need to purchase one. Which do you recommend for most accurate weight?

    Substance abuse

If you are really concerned about it I would encourage you to enter detox and then a substance abuse program. Your mind will tell you you can use more but your body is NOT the same. Please go to detox and follow up with treatment! If you drink or use a lot you MUST be medically monitored when you stop. Withdrawal from alcohol can be fatal. If you aren't sure about treatment go to Alcoholics Anonymous. It sounds like you have multiple addictions and now that food isn't an option your drug and alcohol use tends to escalate. Please seek treatment!!!

    July Sleevers!!!

Scheduled for July 26th. Self-pay with no insurance. I'm anxious and a bit afraid.
  10. I am scheduled for surgery the end of July and being selfpay it's happening a lot faster than I expected. I'm relatively new to all this and was hoping to find a good book to read about the surgery and how to take care of yourself and diet afterwards. Any suggestions welcome!

    July Sleevers!!!

Surgery will either be 7/26 or 8/2. Self pay. I don't have to do 2 wk liquid diet only 2 wks clean eating. Now that I'm scheduled I'm more nervous and feel a little lost.
  12. I don't currently have insurance but I'm planning to do the sleeve self-pay. I began looking for insurance companies just to add an insurance policy in case there's some major complication after words that isn't covered in the self-pay option. What I have found is that no insurance companies will not cover complications related to bariatric surgery that they have not paid for. My question is for those of you who have done self pay options what did you do about the potential complications and protect yourself should you have to end up in the hospital afterwards losing everything you want to pay the bill? I know complications or rather minimal and I've already had my gallbladder out, but I just am worried about what happens or what other people of done to protect themselves.
  13. I am new. I met with the doctor today and he said I'm an excellent candidate for the sleeve. Being self pay they were ready to schedule me for July. Requirements are psych, medical clearance, ekg, and nutrition classes. I was NOT expecting to be asked this today. I'm not ready to have it in July. He also said that I won't have to do the liquid diet before just clean eating. I'm now nervous and a bit scared.

Dr taggar and Dr wizman florida

I was able to an initial appointment pretty quickly and truthfully I don't want to do he surgery for another few months, but I wanted to lock in the discounted price. I guess if it's a busy practice that's a good sign. Thank you
