    First Fill!!!

I just joined this forum today and was reading lots of interesting stories and discussions on so many of the trials and accomplishments so many of you have made. I was banded 2/8/08 and had my first fill on 3/5/08 of 5 cc. When I had to drink that first 1/2 cup of water I just knew I'd overdone it and was going to embarrass myself by having it come back up, but luckily I just jumped off the examination table and it all passed through my band! Whew..I was sweating and trying to talk myself into just staying calm until I hit the parking lot then I could let it out..but turned out that I didn't have to. I am looking forward to reading more stories of everyones' travels in the new chapter of their life!

    Hi from Ireland!

Hi, I just had my lapband done Feb 08! I am so excited for you. It is not a hard surgery and actually mine was in at 8 am and out by noon! I have lost 17 pounds since then and I have only had one adjustment so far. You will be so happy when you start seeing your body gradually start shedding the old cocoon! I must warn you though..at least for me..the scale doesn't show as much weight loss as I thought it might considering how little I've been eating, but my clothes are so loose on me that one of my girl friends at work told me to go shopping and get some SMALLER clothes..it's been a long time since I've heard any thing like that. So don't be afraid..just remember this is a new chapter in your life and you will start with a smile for the first line!

    1st Fill.. didn't do SH!T!!!

Please don't feel bad. I had my first fill on Mar 5, 08 and when my doctor put the saline in me I could actually feel the saline fill the band. The scale is not changing very much for me either. My co-workers and my husband have had to listen to my anxiety like yours..when will the scale start showing the effects of my starvation?? LOL..but actually my clothes are getting looser and I try to explain to everyone that my bird eating habit should show SOME LOSS!! I go back to the doctor on the 17 of April and I hope I can be able to see a loss by then. I don't have a calorie restriction. I have an amount restriction. I have to limit my meals to only 1/2 Cup per meal..I still eat quite a bit of food finely chopped or blended simply because I'm not very good at chewing for 20-30 times. Most of my meal amount is protein..chicken, fish, and just started finely ground beef that has been rinsed with hot water to remove all the fats it can. I don't feel full very often, but I do try to limit myself from "cheating". So don't feel like you're alone.
