Just home from the hospital after being banded!

Hey Mike, Very informative info you gave me on band slippage, I was concerned with food blockage instead. So a about four days post-op I tried a little solid food with no problems, WOW, I forgot all about band slippage!!! Thank God for this web site, as you can imagine I'm totally back to liquid for the full Docs recommendation of three weeks!!!! Thanks again Mike. Greg

Tortillas and rice?

Shame, because I really love rice esp. brown rice it really tastes good to me and brown rice is very good for you, too:sad:. Oh well, I guess maybe some day I'll try it but not now.

Thanks Jack, seams you know a lot about this stuff, any other advice would be nice for us novices hear in the "Men's Room"
6. Got home last night, had to spend an extra night in the hospital due to a small complication during surgery, Everything else went fine. My doc wants me to wait six weeks to the first fill, a little disappointed about that but she must know best. I did loose 15 pounds in the last two weeks of pre-op diet, never thought I could do that. And now have to spend another three weeks on this wonderful liquid diet:thumbdown:. I really can't wait to at least start the soft foods part. Funny, the doc told me that when the band goes on for the first time there is very little restriction without the first fill, but I noticed that when eating the same liquid diet that I was before the banded I feel much much fuller and that feeling lasts much longer. So, I wonder if in fact that the initial banding does restrict more then the docs say? Anyway, would love to hear from some guys that have just had the banding and could give me some advice on what to expect in the next few weeks:smile2:. Thanks a lot.

Can't wait for my new life to begin....

Had my band put on two days ago, still in quite a bit of pain and had a little complication during surgery but everything else went very well. My Dr. wants me to wait 6 full weeks till my first fill on May 2nd. I feel a little disappointed about that, but I have lost 15 pounds in the two week pre-op diet. I'm sure she has her reasons to make me wait so long. It's funny after my banding the Dr. told me that their is very little restriction but I'm eating the same full liquid diet and I feel much fuller eating the same stuff as before the banded. So there must be more of a restriction on that part of the stomach.
