Thanks that is so sweet! It's nice to have people who actually know what you are going through when it comes to this stuff!

I was sleeved 10/5 and am only down about 35 lbs. I was doing well in October and November but did not do well in December or January. My husband was admitted for impatient alcohol treatment on November 27 and was there for 30 days. This was obviously very stressful and having to deal with all of that stress without my go too stress reliever (aka Food) was very difficult. I also was using alcohol myself to try to cope with the situation. Well good news is he is back home and doing great! He has been sober for 2 months and i'm going on a month and a half. I've never felt so good. I'm back on track now and hit a new low today on the scale and only have 4 more pounds to lose to get to my wedding day weight. I'm excited to keep working on this and excited to see the change it has in my life and my family's life!!!! I love this forum for the support everyone has for one another it's great!

I had my sleeve done on 10/5/17. I've been struggling with the 2 week liquid diet and have had a few things here or there but nothing real bad. I'm talking a few oyster crackers in my broth and that type of thing. This morning I am only down 2lbs since surgery. After surgery I was up about 10lbs due to all the extra fluid weight but I definitely feel like I should be down more than 2lbs. Today is the first day that I've really thought maybe this won't work for me. I have my post op appointment tomorrow and am worried about what they are going to say about my lack of weight loss. Has anyone else had this issue?

I was sleeved on 10/5 which was one week ago. I have to do the liquid diet for 2 weeks and am really really missing food. Any suggestions on things that I may not have tried. I've been doing protein shakes, flavored water, cream soup, tomato soup, and jello. I just would love something with substance. Any suggestions from anyone on what they found helpful would be great!!!

Calling all October sleevers!!
riemgirl replied to Detroit_25's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm on my prep diet day 4 I'm allowed one meal and 2 shakes a day. I almost feel like it would be easier if I was doing just shakes. I'm struggling today! Any advice? -
Hey all, I got my approval yesterday and have scheduled my surgery for October 5th!! I have to start my pre-op diet on the 21st of this month and am wondering what others pre op diets look like. My surgeon wants me to use a specific protein shake from bariatric advantage to replace 2 of my meals for the 2 weeks prior to surgery. The problem is that my sister had this surgery in June (by a different surgeon) and gave me some of her ensure protein plus and some protien2O water. I was hoping to be able to use these things as they are free. Do you guys think it would matter? I did check the nutrition facts on the bariatric advantage and if I combine the 2 other things I think that that would equal the right amount of protein. Don't know if this makes sense to anyone just wondering what other peoples diets look like.

How long from First appt until surgery?
riemgirl posted a topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I have my first appointment with my surgeon later this month. I'm anxious to get this process started but am wondering how long the process will take. How long has it taken you from first appointment until surgery? I know it really depends on the insurance company and what they require just wondering what most people's experiences were/are. -
I'm just starting this process have my first appointment with the Surgeon on June 26th. I am trying to find out what the requirements that my insurance company has before surgery. I tried calling them and they said I will just have to ask my surgeon. I have Welmark BCBS of Iowa. Does anyone else have any experience with them? I just want to be able to prepare myself. I've seen anywhere from 8 weeks to 6 months of having to meet requirement and would like to have an idea of how long my process could take.
