  1. This is a drama/dump post so please ignore if you're not interested in drama. I got gastric bypass, lost 120lbs, went down to 150lbs and am wearing size 32 pants. Cured my type 2 diabetes. No huge folds of skin or sagging. I should be happy but I am miserable. Its not that I can't eat the foods I want. Those all became yucky to me. I don't care about food anymore. Its that I feel so invisible now. My friends pretty much ignore me. People in general do not notice me. Most certainly I do not show up on women's radar in the slightest. Sure my friends were "happy" I lost weight but it was blah and I always have the sense they thought I cheated somehow even though I did this so I didn't have to take 5 shots of diabetic meds each day and die at 55. Now I didn't think being thin was a cure all given when I was overweight I routinely saw thin people who were alone. But I thought it would have some sort of positive effect. Instead I can no longer go drink beer, go do a pound down of food, can't eat anything at a party, I make dates angry cause they order a sandwich and I order a half of something off the kids menu and not finish it. I have to wonder if the only reason my friends were friends was because I was the fat guy who did everything with them and was fatter than them and so they felt good about themselves. The world is so hollow and empty to me now. Whoppie I can wear some nice clothes and am not the Michillan man anymore. But I don't see any grand benefits other than health. when I was obese I was looking at the world from the outside. Now I just feel farther outside.

    Fear

Heck I got knocked on my butt by a bicyclist the evening I got released. Got up and just kept going. so its a very non-invasive surgery. Does little actual physical changes. My only issue was due to diabetes it was supposedly harder to get my bleeding to stop when they stitched my new stomach together.
  3. Yeah sorry. Tiny. But not a mouth full. A half fork full.
  4. The point of my post was the reaction from other people to my weight loss. I fully understand that food is not a hobby. But to so utterly lose friends etc over this. I have to wonder what my roll was with them. Was I just the fat guy they partied with? As for beer, I usually avoid it cause I can't drink a lot plus my body weight is low that I can't hold my liquor. If I eat a meal I get sick cause the food either nauseates me or I can't eat even a 10th of it. And yes when I eat one chicken wing the topic comes up... why aren't you eating? People kind of notice I do look like skeletor. I don't bring the subject up.

    When will I feel better

My day right out of the hospital I went walking with my sister and a bicyclist plowed right into me a knocked me on my back. Luckily nothing "burst" except the sticky bandage over the drain hole that split my skin like a giant paper cut. This cut kept my attention for 2 weeks so I don't recall being miserable about anything. I do remember a LOT of passing gas and queeziness. It all passes (no pun intended). Your big problem will be gas for the next six months. I suggest disposable cushions for your car.
  6. Don't count on discomfort to curb your eating. Sooner or later your body will adjust. Here's what I do: 1. Take a 2 oz bite. 2. Put the fork or food down and do not put anything else in your mouth. 3. Take a long time to chew. Chew it completely. should take like 20-30 seconds. 4. After your mouth is empty do not take another bite until after about 10-20 seconds. 5. Repeat. After about 5 or so bites shove the food aside for a while and come back to it after reading something or talking with someone or watching TV. Also while you eat keep asking yourself "why am I eating", "why do I have anxiety" over and over and over. Also enjoy the food. Obese people LOVE to pound down, I did. Pounding down is like 80% of the eating disorder. Also don't drink while eating.
