Help My Hair is falling out

I started losing hair around the 4 month mark. I had really thin hair too. Here is what I did to combat. I’m not sure if any or all of these things helped, or if it was just a matter of time (stopped around 7 month mark and now I have SO many baby hairs). 1. Get your water and protein in. Supplements: vitals collagen peptides. Fermented cod liver oil, and biotin. To combat the thinning I used tea tree sham/cons by Paul Mitchell and cut my hair into a cute angled bob. I get so many compliments on how healthy my hair looks, so something worked! Good luck. And just know it stops eventually - a small side effect in the scheme of things.
  2. I am in the exact same boat. I’m 7 months post opp and have been snacking way too much and not measuring portions. the scale has shown the same dreaded numbers give or take ~2 lbs for two months. I did so well in the beginning, but I’ve been craving my old ways of lazy football Sunday’s and fun nights out with friends that I know I’m self sabotaging. I don’t have any advice per say, except that we need to get back on the horse, get back to basics and push through. It has to be worth it! Good luck- know that you’re not alone! One day at a time.
  3. I'm jealous of your MAY 15th group great participation and check ins! I'm a may 3rd sleever... may I join you?! HW 292 SW 274 CW 222 Feeling great. Have been in a 3-week stake that has been playing mind games with me, just trying to stay positive and grateful of what the surgery has provided for me.
  4. Hello! wondering if anyone has experienced stalls while exercising more heavily? It feels like I can track all my stalls back to when I'm working out with my trainer - cardio, HIIT training, some weights. If this is something that happened to you as well, how did you counter? I eat about 800-1000 consistently, 80g protein and 70oz of water. I'm about 3.5 months out. Any tips are much appreciated. Thanks!
  5. I took a week off and worked remotely for one additional week before returning. I think if I had to, going back to work after one week would have been fine (desk job)
  6. great job! i'm about 8 weeks post opp - sleeved May 3rd. Here is a pic from November (around my highest weight) and one from this past weekend. Lots of little NSVs, including wearing this sleeveless dress and not completely dreading it. My biggest NSV though, is how many people tell me how happy I look. It must really be showing. I'm still not sure about my progress, Dr said I should be losing 5-7 a week. I'm averaging around 3-4, but happy with my progress overall. I agree this forum has been really helpful, especially when I'm not feeling as confident. Best of luck and keep up the great work!

Why do I feel suicidal ?

We had our surgeries on the same day. If you ever need to talk about you're journey, I'd be happy to listen!

8 Weeks Post Op...Working Out Again

Hi all, when did you start working out again? I'm a little over 4 weeks out and only walking (1-2 miles a day) I'm eager to get back into the gym (noticed my tush is starting to sag- lol I never had that problem before!!) I have my month check up this week with my surgeon so I assume that's when I'll get the go ahead. Any recos for starting back up with more HIIT training? Anyone work out with a trainer?

    CALORIE COUNTING

Thank you all for the input. My main reason for asking is that I'm not having a hard time restricting too many foods. I'm still making smart decisions and eating the suggested foods, but my plan doesn't really quantify how much of anything except for protein and water. I've been tracking via MFP and am somewhere between 600-800 calories each day, with 1-2 miles a day. Sounds like it may vary greatly on the person so I'm going to keep doing what I'm doing. Have a great day all!! Thanks again!
  10. Hi all! Did your nutritionists give you an idea of how many calories you should be taking in? I understand water and protein are the biggest priorities (I'm 3 weeks post op today) but I'd like to gage the foods I'm taking in and if they are worth it or not. What about after the 5 stages, any recommendations there too? Thanks so much! Sleeved may 3rd (-29lbs since surgery)

    Retaining water?

I have broth once a day still as I'm still having a hard time with water. I'll check the sodium counts, I have been switching them up lately. Thanks for the suggestion!
  12. Hi all! I'm ~2.5 weeks post opp and feeling like I'm retaining water. Feet and fingers feel swollen and I've stalled for the last three days. Is the swelling/water retention a normal side effect? Any thoughts on how to counter? Thanks so much!

    I'm lost

I used GNC lean shakes, 27 grams of protein 4g sugar & 170 cals. Not sure you're going to find too many shakes with zero sugar. My nutritionist said to keep it under 5. Good luck!

    Losing required weight pre-op

I was in the same boat until I basically followed a modified " 14-day pre-surgery diet". Shake, shake and sensible dinner. I had v8, fruit or raw veggies w/hummus if I felt too hungry between meals. This helped me lose over 30lbs before surgery. Good luck, keep working at it!
