I'm glad I'm not the only one feeling this way on the liquid diet! 6 days down and 18 days to go! We can do this... I can do this! =)

I'm glad everyone is doing so well! It helps puts my mind at ease about my upcoming surgery on the 28th. I have one question for those of you who have had surgery. You mention your stomach making noises. Is it like the noises my stomach is making on day 6 of my liquid diet? Does it just sound like your stomach is growling? Hungry? Will people who don't know we had surgery wonder what's wrong with us? =) Congratulations to all of you that are now home and recovering from surgery, and best wishes to the rest of you who are counting the days until we receive our bands. I can't wait for mine!

I have finished day one of my liquid pre-op diet & I didn't cheat. Yeah! I'll be on this for another 23 days. We were instructed to eat five Optifast Products a day. It can be a combination of Optifast shakes and Optifast Soups, but we can only have two soups a day dut to the sodium content. We are also supposed to have one Optifast Nutrition bar a day, two servings of Fiber (Benefiber was recommended), and drink at least 64 ounces of Water per day. It's going to be a looong 23 days, but I plan to stick to it and see how much of a jump start I can get on my weight loss before I go in for surgery on the 28th. It's late and my stomach is starting to growl. I guess I better get to bed so I don't ruin my successful first day. If I'm sleeping, I won't know I'm hungry. =) Good luck to all of you on liquids! I'm at SWMC, and my surgery is on 4/28. After reading some of these posts, I'm going to double-check next week that everything is set with the insurance.

1. Have a multitude of stores I can shop in for clothes instead of just the one or two stores that carry plus sizes here 2. Go to Hawaii and walk on the beach in a sexy swimsuit instead of my "cover up as much as possible - hate to be seen in" swimsuit I have now 3. Not be ashamed for my husband to know how much I weigh because I'll actually weigh less than him for once in our lives 4. Go sky diving - maybe :biggrin2:

JoMarie, I'd be looking for a new doctor/surgeon, and I would let your current doctor know all your reasons why. Best of luck to you!

This thread really struck a chord with me. I can so relate to what you have all said, and I'm so relieved to know there are people out there who truly understand how I'm feeling! God bless you all.

I agree! I start my pre-op diet on 4/3/08 and surgery is on 4/28! Twenty-four days on a liquid diet. I'm going to be visiting this website a lot! We're going to support each other every step of the way. We can do this.

My date is April 28th in Lansing, MI with Dr. Yenumula.

A few years back when I had exploratory surgery, I had horrible shoulder pain from the gas rising and resting there. (If your sitting or standing, it goes to the highest place.) The nurses told me to lay down so that the gas would distrubute more evenly throughout my body until it was gone, and it would cause less pain in the meantime. It worked for me. Take care!
