Oh no she didn't... haha...NSV
BrandiceLeSha replied to BrandiceLeSha's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
You'll be your dream size before you know it. But, no I still don't get it. I still feel like I'm a 10-12... not a small or fitting size 6 jeans.. My brain still doesn't register my size. My husband has to constantly remind me. And thank you so much... lol, I never thought I'd be doing the leggings! Sent from my SM-G955U using BariatricPal mobile app -

Opinions to stop losing weight
BrandiceLeSha posted a topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
Has anyone had people telling them not to lose any more weight? I don't mind being told that if I'm getting way too skinny.. But I'm not even at suggested goal weight yet much less anything on a chart. I'm 5'4 and 155 pounds. It normally wouldn't bother me, but it seems like my whole family is saying that criticising what I eat. I don't mind concern, but this just seems a little overboard. Right on. What you want should be priority. And be happy with accomplishing your goal. You worked hard. I don't have a goal weight...I know that sounds absurd. One big reason is i didn't really know what i should be.... charts vs doctors telling me higher weights than chart. I just wanted to improve my health and back pain, so I just determined to be happy whatever my final weight ends up being. I'm not unhappy with my weight at the moment, but I continue on for health reasons. Sent from my SM-G955U using BariatricPal mobile app -

You're right. I had to step back and realize their words don't matter. Maybe good intentions.. Maybe jealousy... regardless, I did this for my health. And my body is saying my journeys not over so I'm going keep hiking the mountain Sent from my SM-G955U using BariatricPal mobile app -

Yes, I discovered the bmi letdown this week. I've never weighed in the 140s even in my teenage years. I step on the scale.. it was 147.2. I'm like [emoji41][emoji41][emoji41][emoji41]. Then, I look at my breakdown. I figured my bmi must be great now.... nope, it's still showing over healthy range with it being 26. Sent from my SM-G955U using BariatricPal mobile app -
"He didn't Have surgery".... rant
BrandiceLeSha posted a topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
Sitting here watching home and family, they were discussing obesity in humans and dogs. How to tackle both at once. The lady was raving about the guy losing weight running with his dog... and made a bold emphasis when she said, " He didn't Have surgery...". Okay, congrats to the guy. I'm proud he changed his life. But, a really big congrats to all y'all who had sleeve or bypass. It's not the easy way out. And everyone tried other ways beforehand that didn't work. So, y'all made a LIFELONG commitment to improve your lives... to undergo surgery and recovery... to be a baby again and go thru the eating phases including a long period of time of mainly forcing down those "delicious" protein drinks..To puree food into must...To be on very strict diet during these phases...To give up carbonation even if it's sugar free...To stick a needle in yourself every month to get your b12 levels right... to longingly look at all the variety of foods at a party and know if you do cheap, it's only a few selective bites and you may get sick for just that... I could list many more that apply to other people or myself. Short point, it's not the easy route. The cravings don't go away with that portion of stomach you lost. It still takes willpower and lots of commitment. So even if some of the world can't understand, I CONGRATULATE YOU! Sent from my SM-G955U using BariatricPal mobile app -

I understand that. I lost weight years back before my back got so bad. But I began eating more and more because of people's comments. I don't blame them for my weight gain, but I don't intend to let them derail me this time Sent from my SM-G955U using BariatricPal mobile app -

Thanks for y'alls replies. They make me feel better. The comments normally don't bother me, but I guess the excessive amounts did with it being the holidays and being around so many people. And to give them credit, some haven't saw me or saw me much since my surgery in June. So, it probably was a shock to see me 80 pounds lighter. Lol, plus I've developed a shyness the last few months. I used to like attention, but now I don't like being the center of attention. And everyone has questions or comments since my weight loss is from past six months. But I know time will help that too. I had my sleeve on June 28th. My first weigh in was 236 pounds. Now, I'm down to about 160. It'll feel slow at times, but then it will hit at once. Lol, I was wearing pants two sizes too big the other week because I didn't realize my size. It does take time for the brain to catch up to the weight loss. I'm still working on me and still progressing but so blessed. Sent from my SM-G955U using BariatricPal mobile app

Thanks! It's been that way all the way through my journey. Sometimes I go weeks struggling over a pound. Other times, the pounds just come off like crazy. But some of the staff at my doctors office told me to stop being so hard on myself. Lol, and it's so much easier now. If the scale don't move, usually the inches still do. So, I've learned to focus on the journey. I've still got a great journey left! Sent from my SM-G955U using BariatricPal mobile app

3 months Post Op .... Hair Loss
BrandiceLeSha replied to CantStopMeNow's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
Mine didn't start coming out until about 4 months out.It is depressing at first, but you have to remember it's a temporary trade. I'm using some great hair products and boxley shampoo to help. And it will return eventually. But it pushed me to get a great cut[emoji4] And that helped allot. I may not have long thick hair anymore but I also don't have those 76 pounds Sent from my SM-G955U using BariatricPal mobile app -

Has anyone gotten sick after starting pre-op diet? I started yesterday, and I have been throwing up with the biggest headache today. I also had dental implant surgery on Monday. So, just curious if it was sugar/ caffeine withdrawal. Sent from my SM-G930VL using BariatricPal mobile app
