I really like the idea of mixing protein with pudding. Do you just add the serving of protein powder to the pudding powder mix before adding the liquid? -
Are matzoh balls ok to eat? I am entering solid food stage tomorrow and would love to have matzoh balls. But, I would think they would expand in your stomach like pasta or other bread products and maybe get stuck.

Khaliah Ali wrote a book about her lap band experience. It's called Fighting Weightloss and it's on bargain right now on Amazon for only $6! I just ordered it. Personally, I am a big proponent of motivation and reading books about someone's personal journey or watching TV shows about weightloss (I am a Biggest Loser fan) really helps keep me motivated!

I recommend a hand immersion blender. I don't have a magic bullet, and may still get one, but the immersion blender has been great for the liquid stage. I bought a stainless steel cuisinart brand for only $40 and it came with a whisk and chopper attachment as well.

I have gotten so many good ideas and suggestions from this site, I thought I would post my own. I just tried this today...and it was really good. One of my favorite canned soups pre-band is Campbells Mexican Chicken Tortilla soup. Well for my liquid stage I took a can of the same soup but the Healthy Request version, put it through a strainer, and put the chicken, corn, and beans back in with the broth. I used an immersion blender to blend it all together and it tasted great. I recommend the hand immersion blender for making soups or blending for the liquid stage.

I have bought them at Safeway, QFC, and Target, but only saw the new flavors at the grocery store and not Target.

I have been a fan for quite a while! I started with their buttered popcorn flavor, which I also recommend. They recently came out with new sweet flavors--chocolate mint, peanut butter, and caramel. The caramel is great. I was just banded 3 days ago and yesterday was actually wondering if I would get to eat those again....sounds like I might be able to in the future.

I have been exercising about every other day throughout my pre-op diet. I wanted ot give myself every opportunity to loose that 20 pounds my surgeon told me I needed to lose in 2 weeks. My surgery is Monday the 31st (woohoo!). Should I be concerned about straining myself at all by exercising the day before surgery? I usually walk 1-2 miles (on flat land) as my routine. Thanks for your input! :thumbup:

Hi everyone--I too am getting the band on March 31st in Seattle, WA. I have to be there at the early hour of 7:15am. I have been on a modified liquid diet for 2 weeks and just raided Whole Foods tonight for Protein powders and box Soups. I have been researching, saving, and planning for this for almost two years so I could not be more excited. I am also a little apprehensive, but I know it will be worth it.
