Long post but I needed to say this to people who would understand
LSanchez238 replied to Dashofpixiedust8's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I just have to say that you inspired me. I also have had a couple of self inflicted stalls from a bad couple days here and there, and have also allowed the what ifs to bother me. Just, wow. You look amazing and I think you will be happy once you hit your goal. HW - 508, SW - 488, CW - 387, GW - 230. God is Good! -
Thanks, and to God be the glory. I ask Him to help me everyday and He hasn't failed me yet. Sent from my Nexus 7 using BariatricPal mobile app

I am a 36 yr old man out of Central California. I have been severely overweight since about 24 yrs of age. I started this journey about 2 years ago leaning heavily towards being banded, and the more I researched the more I started leaning toward VSG. I went to the doctor a few years ago and they weighed me before seeing me, and I topped the scale at 507 lbs. I nearly started crying, I couldn't believe how out of hand this got. And that's when the 2 year journey started. I slowly went through the preliminary visits for EKG, echocardiogram, etc. all the while trying different diets and exercise programs to see if I could do it on my own. I would lose some, but ultimately gain it back. I finally set my day back in March this year, and the date set was April 17th. I weighed 488 before pre op started. I started pre op on April 1st, and I lost 21 lbs pre op. Weighed 467 on the 14th. I ended up having my surgery the 18th after all. Today I weighed in at 437 and am loving my choice. There was a complication during my surgery, but my surgeon took good care of me and corrected the anesthesiologist mistake. I have more energy and am happier than I have been, and I have always been a happy guy. I thank God for everything and am glad I am not alone in this journey. I have a great support group... my girlfriend, my family, and my church family... and now all of you. [emoji1] Sent from my Z981 using BariatricPal mobile app

96 pounds down in three months

Good job bro. I have lost 87 since April 1st. So I believe it! Sent from my Z981 using BariatricPal mobile app -
The pain was in the main incision. I felt fine 2 days after wearing the strap. The strap worked as a girdle and helped tremendously. I recommend taking as much time off as they are willing to give you. Thankfully my job was fine with it. Sent from my Z981 using BariatricPal mobile app

I had the same problem.... I returned to work 5 days after surgery, but I work as a cook at a steakhouse. So there is a lot of lifting and prepping. I started to get really bad pain my 2nd day back at work. On my 3rd day back I had to leave. It hurt so bad. I realized I needed more time off. I was given a white strap that went around my abdomen, and I noticed when I strapped it tight that it supported my abdomen and relieved the pain. I kept wearing it everyday all day until the 6 weeks were up. I then returned to work and have been stronger than ever. Sent from my Z981 using BariatricPal mobile app

DEPRESSED AND DISCOURAGED

Everyone stalls on the 3rd week... Google it. And this info might help.... https://www.mexicobariatriccenter.com/not-losing-weight-after-gastric-sleeve-surgery/ Sent from my Z981 using BariatricPal mobile app -
I also tried beans from del taco around the same time. It's like $.89 for the beans alone, and I could only eat about half. But, both of those was all I was able to tolerate Sent from my Z981 using BariatricPal mobile app

Week 3 Weight Loss Stall
LSanchez238 replied to KatePenny's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had the same problem, I'll give a link to the info im about to give, but you hit a stall because your body isn't getting enough calories yet. So, your body starts storing rather than burning because it goes into starvation mode. I'm a month and 2 days out, I have been losing weight like crazy this past week because I'm starting to hit between 1000 and 1200 calories a day. https://www.mexicobariatriccenter.com/not-losing-weight-after-gastric-sleeve-surgery/ Sent from my Z981 using BariatricPal mobile app -

I had the sleeve. I saw a nutritionist pre op, but she only saw me once and never rescheduled me. She was also 2 hrs away from the city I had my surgery and 1 1/2 hrs from me. Sent from my Z981 using BariatricPal mobile app

I get about 80 g protein and around 700 calories Sent from my Z981 using BariatricPal mobile app

My surgeon didn't offer much info, and I haven't had a nutritionist. I've looked up a lot of info and kind of been doing my own thing.... which I know can be dangerous. But, I had my sleeve less than a month ago on April 18th. I lost 21 lbs pre op, and 27 lbs post op. I am on phase 4 and I am eating 4-5 small meals a day. I'll have 2 eggs for breakfast, a premier protein shake for a morning snack, tuna for lunch, and a Dannon Oikos triple zero blended Greek yogurt for dinner Sent from my Z981 using BariatricPal mobile app
