  1. Anyone know if health insurance will cover a tummy tuck after weight loss?
  2. Was banded July 08 - 78 pounds down and 40 to go!!!! Now how to fix the sagging boobs and tummy??
  3. I have 2 cc's in my band. Dr Hoffman says slow is better - in both fills and weight loss. I read the posts on this thread every day and it helps me stay on track - or at least get back on track when I stray! I thank all of you!
  4. I'm down about 60 lbs. Not bad but sooooo slow!
  5. I got my band 07/14/08. Saw Dr. Hoffman Tuesday (06/09/09) and got my 2nd fill. I finally feel restriction! Not bad like a few of you experienced - but it's there! I was beginning to doubt restriction was a real thing! Got a bad itchy rash from the injection, I think maybe from the numbing stuff...
  6. I had my surgery 7/14/08. I was told I had sleep apena and needed not a c-pap machine - but a bi-pap machine! It cost me $185 a month - I had Univera health ins. - I turned it in after surgery also! I have lost about 60 lbs and sleep through the night now & don't wake up tired with a headache!
  7. Linda, Thanks! The next support meeting is 10/15 at BGH, right? What time?
  8. Is the support group open for everyone? ( pre and post bandsters) I went to the seminar before surgery, is this different? I could use some post support. (My surgery was 7/14/08) What is discussed at the support meeting?:crying:
  9. The first week after surgery is wonderful! A new start to our new lives!
  10. My appt. is at 9:00 on 10/7. It would be nice to meet a fellow bandster! Thanks for the definition of PBing. I think I have semi-PBed! Congrats to all who are having surgery! To me it was very exciting-now I am trying to figure out how to use it.
  11. I was losing 2 lbs a week, but I'm sure it's slowed down. July and Aug and most of Sept I could only eat small amounts and even had the "stuck" pain 2 times. It is only in the past 2 weeks or so that I don't have the full feeling. I am not overeating due to will power and the scare of that "stuck" pain. Dr. Hoffman is awesome. But I am so worried that I will screw up. Looking forward to my 10/7 visit and hopefully a fill.
  12. It's great reading everyone's posts. I was banded 7/14/08 by Dr. Hoffman. He told me I had my first fill at the time of surgery. The problem is I don't feel any restriction at all. I feel the same as before surgery, and very hungry. My next appointment is 10/7. I hope for a fill and some restriction. Tell me that feeling will really come!!
  13. Hi! I was banded by Dr. Hoffman at BGH on 7/14/08. He is wonderful! I would like to attend the support meeting, but I don't know anything about it. Can someone tell me date, time and place? I'm doing well with my band, but a little support would be great as my friends and family don't really understand all this. Thanks!
  14. I was banded 7/14 an I feel hungry all the time. It's a struggle to eat small amounts. I chew each mouthful 20 to 30 times. I'm losing slowly, but I to feel I may have stretched my pouch because I don't feel any full or restricted feeling. I had my post-op dr. appt. one week after surgery and my next appt. is 9/2. They didn't mention when I would get my first fill, but I hope it is soon because except for mild port site discomfort, I feel the same as before surgery. Sometimes the hunger is painful.
  15. Hi! I had my surgery 7/14/08. I'm unsure what to eat. I tried ground turkey and I got all sweaty and had pain and thought I was going to throw up. Basicly, I eat eggs, tuna, cottage cheese, stuff like that. I don't seem to ever have the full feeling. Any thoughts?
