I have ky Wellcare medicaid, I am sure I will have to jump thru many hoops.

I was just noticing some folks saying they had Dr supervised diet's, that knocked off some time from their pre op visits. I have been seeing my Dr for my diabetes every three months for 2 years now, and on some of my check out forms it states continue the same medications and try to be more strict with diet and exercise. On another check out paper it tells me to follow a 1200 calorie diet. My question is, just by saying this does this mean I have been under a Dr supervised diet? Will insurance accept that as a supervised diet?

Hi, I live in Florence myself, and will be seeing Dr Moon on July 6th. Id love to hear more on your journey. How the process goes and what not. Ive a feeling it is going to be a 6 month type thing, is this true?

I think if he is against it, I will seek out a bariatric center, and continue my journey.

My mind is made up, 5 shots a day diabetic...lol...

Going to my primary care Dr on Thursday to discuss the sleeve, what are some of the most important questions you felt you missed asking when you began your journey?

It is sad that folks cant support us. My daughters dont like the idea either. Some think its the easy way out. It is actually one of the toughest decisions I have ever made. But I just keep thinking to myself, Amputate the tummy or the legs...I think the tummy has got to go...F!@#% what others think..lol

Just wondering, anyone have full Dentures, and what effect did WLS have on them. Did you need to get new ones? Did they get loose? Can they be realigned?

I dont want to wait the 6 months because I am afraid Trump will take away insurance coverage because of the pre existing conditions crap he pushing so hard. Maybe that will get Wellcare to push it to go faster..lol

I have to do a full six months before getting a surgery date I believe. I was hoping more like three so I wouldn't be down during the holidays..I have the whole gambit of issues from Diabetes high blood pressure, high triglycerides, arthritis and a BMI of 49. I am 53 yrs old 5'2 weight 276. I cant see one reason to not get sleeved.

Hi, I am going to see my Primary Care Dr on MAY 25TH, to discuss my options, I am at the very first stage myself. I have read so m much and studied up on the sleeve just trying to prepare for the visit.. Im from Florence Ky.

Hi, I have just started the journey, I have read and absorbed so much information, this place is a wealth of information! I am excited to see everyone's progress and enjoy reading the stories. I plan on discussing having the sleeve done at my next Dr appointment on the 25th of May. I have questions tho, Such as is there any conditions/comorbidities that expedite the the process? I seem to have them all. BMI 50, HBP, Diabetes, arthritis, thyroid issues, high cholesterol the whole gambit .. Will Welcare of Ky cover it? It is medicaid. What can I do starting now that will help get the process going?

Curious how things went I am from Ky too, did they make anyone wait 6 months, or go thru the classes for 6-12 months? I am in northern Ky and was hoping to have mine done in Cincinnati.
