Major Nesting!!! Preparations for upcoming surgery and liquid diet
Eiramana replied to Allison's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Allison: After surgery I had very little desire to eat anything. My family was a little worried... I know alot of these posts say to buy sugar free but if you are only eating 300 calories a day in the beginning, a little sure helps more than hurts. This is what I bought: Boullion for broth 100% juice (some I drank and some I made into juice cubes) Clear popsicles For week two I bought Creamy Soups Protein shakes pudding plus the things from week 1. Hope that helps! Anamarie -

Anyone Used Port Huron Lapband Center
Eiramana replied to ChristyC's topic in Weight Loss Surgeons & Hospitals
Hi Christy: I just went through the surgery with Dr. Gazayerli in Troy, MI. He works out of the DMC. I have had a wonderful experience so far. Not exactly the information you were looking for....but it might be helpful. -
Hello all I just wanted to share this resource I found on Men's Health. You choose what type of smoothie you want on the blender and then press go. When you go to the page it gives you a list of smoothies and the ability to see the nutritional information. food and nutrition, but just in case someone is new and hasn't found it yet, I wanted to include it here as well. Good luck to all!

Hello Everyone: My name is Anamarie and I had surgery yesterday. I am doing great and trying not to read any of the negative points so that I can stay positive. I have spent the day eating ice chips and slowly made my way through a popscicle and some broth. Woo-hoo! Too exciting. I am going to look on the boards now and see if I can gain any words of wisdom. I am excited to begin the process and look forward to my new, healthier life.

Thanks to all, I feel much better today... One small step for me! Woo-hoo!

Question for any and all? When we were leaving the hospital the nurse told my mom that I might have some pain under my shoulders as air gets trapped inside the tissues during surgery. Has anyone else had this and how long does it last? Just curious... Thanks! Anamarie

Stupid people and their stupid opinions
Eiramana replied to spoodles's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Jana: I have to tell you that I can totally sympathize. I had decided not to tell anyone except for a select few. Then I learned that if you tell your mother that automatically voids your wish. This is means that she can tell anyone as long she says, "But don't tell anyone." I gave up and now I just let anyone know...I figure it it my life and while I don't need to hear the negative feedback, I can take it knowing that I am going to show them all! -
I dont' think you are crazy at all. I know that for me there is always a certain point where I freak out. Not only do I plateau physically but also mentally. I think you need to take a look at all the things you will experience without the extra weight and and see if anything scares you. No matter how you look at it, it is change and change is scary. I guess to sum it up I would say that you are not crazy but in fact perfectly normal.

Thanks for the reply! I appreciate it. Good luck to you, too!
