Two week liquid diet troubles
Okie75 replied to Okie75's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Thank you everyone! I was told 3rd day of liquid diet is hard. 3rd night is no joke either! I slept well the next night, doing great since. I've upped my protein and try to have a sugar free popcicle or sugar free jello every 2 hours or so and that helps. I think it was also my body saying, "What the heck!" I'm keeping an eye on my blood pressure as well. I really appreciate the comments. I knew it wouldn't be easy, but I had never passed out before, and that was scary. Thanks again! -

Two week liquid diet troubles
Okie75 replied to Okie75's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
After I woke I was in a cold sweat but felt better. I drank a protein shake and more water. I feel ok today. A little dizzy but not bad. And my head hurts from when I fell. Otherwise I think I'm ok so far. Going to try and take in more protein and water today. I hope that's all it is. It just really scared me. -
I just started 2 week liquid diet yesterday. I like the Premier Protein drinks. Some other ideas that I like is 1 cup sugar free jello, or sugar free popcicle. Broth is also another option. Things like this keep me at the 500 calorie and 50 grams or less carbs and at least 65+ grams of protein a day. Although every Doctor requires different pre-op diets, I've attached some of my print-outs, maybe that will help give you some ideas.

My Doctor told me not to worry because he was turning in my weight from my first appointment when I was 36.6 BMI. so that took some stress off. I'm just at 35 BMI now, but started 2 week liquid diet yesterday so I will probably lose more till surgery May 31st. But I'm already approved, thankfully. Its crazy, and sad, that every insurance is different.

Every insurance is different. Sounds like you have things in order. When I started going through the approval process, I just told myself that if it's meant to be, it will be. I wish you all the best!

I was worried about that to, even though I had the comorbidity issues for approval. I talked to my bariatric surgeon and he informed me that the first weight recorded at my first appointment is what they turn into insurance. So my advice would be to ask your Doctor, so you can be sure your qualifications will still be met when turned into insurance. Best of luck!

Me! I'm BMI of 36.6, with the serious weight-related issues, or, "comorbidity" as they call it, to qualify with high blood pressure, high cholesterol, and pre-diabetic. My surgery date is May 31st!

It's ok, I couldn't keep up any way lol. Just wondering why but I figured I was taken out since I wasn't on much or didn't interact much. It's all good. Best of luck to you all!

I was on Kik but couldn't keep up lol. I think because it was more private.

It seems I've been removed from the Kik group. Maybe because I haven't been on much. No worries. Busy month with graduation now surgery! Best of luck to you all!

A question for those who have had surgery and had a sensitive stomach beforehand. What I've read about how my stomach may react after surgery, is often times how my pre-op stomach is now. For example, greasy foods or some foods, such as salad greens, make my stomach upset to the point of diarrhea. I often have to take tums to calm my stomach. I'm wondering if this is a concern for me. My sleeve surgery is scheduled for May 31st. Just curious, thank you.

Glad to hear you're doing well!
