That's just it, I never felt bad. Yes, there were times, and still are when I eat something that's tasty going down and coming up. Though I never felt starved and if we're honest, many of us are overweight because we enjoy eating. I come from a family of good cooks and eating bland foods and the liquid diet wasn't cutting it. So I started with fresh chicken, herbs, and spices and made my own broth. That was much tastier than anything bottled or canned. I'm picky about what I eat and if it's not appealing, I forgo it. I guess it helps that I'm really not hungry. Now my challenge is committing to working out. That's key to getting toned and reaching my goal of a healthier me.

I wasn't really hungry, but I understand. Even now, almost 12 weeks out, I eat because I should. To because I'm hungry. You'll make it through this phase just as the rest of us did and you'll be happy you did. Good luck!

Just reading your post and finding it intriguing, especially since the veggies are far easier to digest since surgery. I've been struggling trying to eat the amount of protein suggested only because I fear hair loss. Stupid! I'm going to check out the book.

10 months out. Hit Goal and still want more.

You look amazing. Congratulations. The only real person who can determine if you need to keep losing is you, but be honest with yourself. You admitted that you still see a "fat person" when you look in the mirror. That sounds more like body image problems than a real necessity to lose more weight. Talk to a professional about that, consult with your doctor, and celebrate the new you! -
Congrats, you look amazing. Best wishes on your continued progress.

I'm one week post surgery and feel terrific. I've never kept a scale, so I honestly don't know what I've lost. On Tuesday, at my pcp said I was down about 18 pounds. I'm struggling getting enough protein in, probably because I don't like the taste, but I'll push forward. I'm excited to see what the outcome will be. Best of luck all!

Pre op liquid diet weight loss
ayggordy replied to LiLiTsc's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
No worries. No, I haven't met with my surgeon again. I've seen nurses, nurse practitioners, dietitians, and several other doctors. I haven't met with my surgeon since January. I've just had to do all the other appointments. -

Pre op liquid diet weight loss

My pre-op diet is 1000 calories, but not liquid. My liquid diet begins the when I come out of surgery. Is that unusual? It sounds like everyone is doing something different than what the nutritionist said in my pre-surgery seminar. -

I'm new to the forum and a scheduled for a May sleeve. I've heard the liquid diet is rough, but I'm excited for what comes after. I didn't know I could eat broth. I go to the nutrition class this week. Any suggestions?
