Hello, I am 7 days post op, I had a gastric bypass done May 1st. On Wednesday I start my puréed stages. Does anyone have any ideas as to what they did and what was best? Looking for ideas so I can try to plan what to pick up from the store and what can I do that was best. Ideas please. Any would be great. Thank you in advance.

So had my surgery RNY May 1st starting was 221 I have been sticking to what I was told. I been doing very well getting fluids and puréed foods that I got approved to start soft foods early. So, I was able to start soft foods I take it easy I know when to stop. So I don't over eat, I don't drink and eat. But I only weigh 202. Is this normal? I walk 4 miles a day with my dog she actually keeps me going. I created a monster if I don't wake up early enough for her she wakes me up to go walking. Which is great for me Bc she is holding me accountable to keep walking. But should I be doing something different? Or am I doing something wrong? I also do take my vitamins like I am told to as well. Advice? Help.

I know she keeps me moving! I woke up early this morning before my husband left for work today she is going over to my in laws because I won't be home. However, she saw that I was up so she guessed we were leaving to go for a walk. While I was up I took my vitamins than later down in bed for a bit so she came in the bedroom and sat in the bed along side me and was waiting for me to get up and take her for her daily walk. Poor thing. Today I will be walking but I have plans to be with friends today my husband and I don't want to leave her alone all day. So, my farther in law will walk her with his 2 dogs. But I definitely find it funny how she was ready and waiting for me to get going. But, her doing that is great for me.

I was nervous as well I just had my gastric bypass done May 1st. The pre op diet was rough Bc u know u can eat it without issues but u have to not eat it Bc of the surgery. What made it even harder for me was my husband ate whatever he wanted and I couldn't. But also once my surgery was done once I came home and started feeling better as surprised as I was I still was hungry just yet my body didn't want or need food it was all in my head! But as the time goes on u will feel better and it becomes a little easier each day. You can do this stay strong. Keep coming on here a reading ppl stories that helps a lot also. Hope I helped some. Good luck

I had my surgery May 1st I had a gastric bypass as well. I to am actually hungry. I found that surprising I thought after surgery I wouldn't want food. I have been doing very well getting my liquid intake in I am still having pain so still taking my pain meds which I worry if I should not be taking them at this point? But from reading it looks like our mind is playing tricks on us. Our bodies are not hungry but our brain is telling us we need to eat. I also wondered if this was normal and who else has the same issue? But your not alone on that end of feeling hungry as well. -
I am glad to hear. Keep up the good work. Mine was May 1st doing well with fluids and moving around but still little sore and tender

Congratulations! how are you holding up?

How much time you got till your surgery?

Well I have not really been nauseous thank goodness for that. The pain is getting better today I took total of 3 pain pills early morning than about early evening than right before bed so I can try to sleep better at night. I have been moving gas I even had my first BM today which hurt to push. My incisions are doing well but the one close to my belly button is sore every time I move it burns or just hurts. Other than that so far so good. My mind is playing tricks on me I do want to eat but when I think I need to eat I drink more. The liquid diet is holding up pretty well getting my fluids in which is great. I am glad to hear so far everyone is holding up well.
