I'm on Day 5 of my two-week pre-op liquid protein diet and -- yikes. I'm not sure how I'm going to survive more than a month (pre- and post-op phases) of these protein shakes. I feel naseous every time I drink one. BLECH. I've tried several varieties, and as of right now, the pre-made Premier Protein shakes are easiest for me to handle. I think part of the problem is the artificial sweeteners. I wasn't eating much of that stuff prior to the pre-op, and I think my body just can't deal with it. But, I've been very good...all my vitamins, all my fluid, all my protein. Honest to God, I never thought I'd be this excited to drink a cup of low-fat, low-sodium chicken broth. Woo hoo! Just one hour at at time...ten days to until surgery.
