Banded January 12, 2006 Monterrey Mexico Dr. Rumbaut No problems No fills yet:)
-
I love this site : -) I always relate to people and say ..."oh, good others feel the same way I do". I am three weeks out and feeling good. It took over a week before i changed from pain to discomfort. another week after that the discomfort wasn't there all the time... Now sometimes when I get up and pull on those muscles... OHHHHH! I had added pain from a hernia repair. I still get real tired in the late afternoon... my DH will say.."honey, you just had surgery, take it slow". Everyone is different. Be good to yourself....

Hi all. I was banded on Janaury 12 by Dr. Rumbaut in Monterrey Mexico. It was a great decision for my being a self pay. I was treated well and don't regret my decision. I arranged for aftercare, fills, spoke to my insurance company to see what would happen if something went wrong when I got back and had to go to a local hospital. I made a list and addressed everything I could think of before I left. Do your research to find the best option for you. Know all the risks and make sure you have follow up care. Good luck on your journey.... it has been the best thing I have done for myself. Donna

Paula, Can you go into some detail... "what I know now"? I was just banded and thought this was the safest option. Don't want to "start" anything. Just being curious.....

DeLarla, You have never been anything but supportive of me since I arrived @ LBT and I soooo appreciate you making me feel welcomed! I respect your opinion... not that I always agree with YOU! I don't have to .. no more then you have to agree with mine. DON'T GO ANYWHERE..... It would be way to quiet around here:eek:

I had a BMI of 43 and was not on a pre op diet, but it really depends on your doctor. EVERY DOCTOR IS DIFFERENT IN PREOP AND POST OP INSUTRUCTIONS. This is the person you should be asking since you put your trust and life in his hands. GOOD LUCK.....

Not Doing Very Well With My Food and Feeling Very Alone : - (
migbt posted a topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Hi, I just got back from a support group at the local hospital. Come to find out, this Hospital doesn NOT do lapbands so everyone at the meeting were bypass people. I have had two really bad episodes in 5 days with food and I have only been banded for three weeks. My body knows I shouldn't eat this stuff and my brain stays it is ok. I want to stop praying before the "porceline" goddess"..... MY TOILET! I left the meeting feeling really alone and crying all the way home. I know this is stupid, but they didn't treat me very well at this support meeting. Thanks for being there ..:faint: -

Mithow....Welcome to bandland.... you are an official banster!!! Glad you are on the losing side! T _ heart - N I was banded by Dr. Rumbaut. You see a nutrision person while at his office. I was treated wonderfully and I am 3 weeks post op. I am also doing fills at fills USA, but in Boynton Beach Florida. Let me know if I can answer any questions..,.. -
Wow... I am stunned by the whole thread! Big (((((hugs))))) to those who have suffered erosion. I haven't walked in your shoes and can't begin to know how that feels, but I do think you have a right to be angry and to voice your opinions. As does everyone else who comes here. I totally have a problem with any doctor that would try to influence banster opinions by signing on to their (our) website... the place where we go to comfort eachother, to voice our feelings..... It is not right. It is just not right!

Thanks everyone... I respect the ones who have gone before me and so appreciate their words of wisdom..... It is amazing how just the hugs and encourangement that you guys sent made me feel better :bananapowerslide: It is a new day and I plan to move a muscle and change an thought.... I hope I was not putting down the bypass people, they do have their own issues and I don't understand theirs anymore then they understand ours. T H A N K S -
I don't know about zoloft, but when I went on Effexor it saved my life and the lives of my husband and children! Sex was very "trying" for a couple of weeks, but with a patient husband it worked it self out.....

Thanks Angie! It is funny, I was on your thread earlier giving you hugs and now you are there to support me...... I guess that is how it works:clap2: -
Way to go Angie! I love your positive attitude..... It will take you far! big ((((((( hugs))))))

I had never had surgery either and I wasn't scared of the surgery itself. My fear came from afterwards..... what was going to happen to my best friend.... the one who has seen me through the good and bad M Y F O O D!!!!! The getting things in order is just common sense..... I think parents handle things a little differently then single people... No offense to anyone : - )
-
Big ((((((( hugs))))))) to all you future bandsters!! You are all in the right place and it is normal to have all these feelings. I did both... my boys are in their 20's so when they came to visit I sat and had a face to face.... it was great to say those MOM I LOVE YOU'S in person : - ) Chances are everything will be fine and think of it this way.... all that getting your affairs in order "stuff" should have been done anyway so one thing you can check off your list when you come to in band land : - )

This thread has gone to the ((((((( B O O B S ))))))))) :clap2: :clap2: :clap2: :clap2: :clap2: :clap2:

Oh geeze.. this is going to sound so selfish but it's true. I'm sitting here praying that the response is, "She was banded in Mexico". I was banded in Mexico and don't understand why you would pray it was done in Mexico? My doctor addressed erosion and slippage upfront. He hasn't had many erosions and has done almost 4,000. He stiches the stomach in front and back so it doesn't slip. Yes, I heard these things, but have you ever read the Package Instert on the medicine you take? It is scarey, but you take the chance in hope that you won't be in the percentage of people that have problems. I hope she does well and our prayers go to her and her support people that they will all come through this ok

Is this an open invite? I have a stepdaughter and three grandkids in vegas that I was going to visit anyway. Sounds like fun: - )

Crystal... I am praying for you... Mikey... thanks for the laugh:nervous

I was banded on January 12 and I started walking... very slowly at first, but walking in the Hospital. I am now up to 1 1/2 miles a day. I am a big water aerobics fan and couldn't go in the pool for three weeks which is up this Thursday. I can't wait:clap2: I am not big on excersise, but once I am doing it ... I love it !!!!!
