    Advice...

I have already talked to the nutritionist and she went over my food diary and said I was doing very good. My calories are set at 1500/ day Carbs are 173g/day Protein is set at 96g/day. I drink well over 8 cups a day of water. I have already talked to my surgical team about not losing weight but all they tell me is I need to lose something to show the insurance company I'm capable of losing.
  2. Good day everyone! I am currently going on my 6th month pre-op "diet" and have yet to lose any weight. I have completely changed my eating habits and exercise 4-5 days a week(30min-1hr) and still don't lose anything! Anybody out there not lose weight pre-op? I'm at a loss(mentally) right now. I don't know what else I could do. I am no where close to getting my surgery date, as I have to wait for open enrollment time for insurance to switch or upgrade my current plan. Any advice or recommendations would be awesome!! Thank you!

    Protein Shakes

I'm pre-op as well. My doctor recommends Premier Protien pre made shakes. They come in 5 different flavors( choc, van, straw, banana, and caramel) with 30 grams of protien, 1 gram of sugar and only 160 calories.

    My doctor lied to me

Just start calling around. Usually if the first one you call doesn't handle those kind of cases, they'll direct you to someone who can. It's medical malpractice....that's the type of case you have.

    My doctor lied to me

I'm sorry this happened to you. The first thing I would do is gather all the receipts and and get a statement from the doctor you just saw and contact a lawyer.
  7. Getting rid of the constant back pain I have. I was diagnosed with Degenerate Disc Diesease late last year and my weight doesn't really help with that either. It also makes it hard to workout sometimes. I would also LOVE to be able to keep up with my daughter. I don't want her to remember me as a "lazy" Mommy who hardly ever played with her.

    Family Pizza Night

I feel your pain but you are doing the right thin! Think of the negative side effects of the pizza and it won't bother you as much. You'll get through this.

    Monthly weigh-ins.....

I agree Berry78 they should have to calibrate them at the end of every day or week. I already know they got my BMI wrong. When they measured my height they said I was 5'6" and I know I'm 5'7 3/4" cos I just got all that checked the week before at my PCP. It is what it is, I guess.

    Monthly weigh-ins.....

Thank you both for replying. It's comforting knowing I'm not the only one this happens to. I even said something to them yesterday at my weigh in and their reply was "yea, they're all different." Like they didn't believe me or something. I've been really good with my diet and exercising so it just disappoints me when it doesn't show on their scales. Now next month I know not to let it get to me. Thank you!!
  13. Hello everyone! I am new to this community. I am currently working on getting the Gastric Sleeve surgery. Right now I have to gone to 3 of the 6 monthly weigh-ins that are required and I have noticed everytime they weigh me it's anywhere from 3-5 lbs more then what I weigh myself at home and at my personal trainers. Has anyone else experienced this?? It's very discouraging for me cos I'm working really hard to lose weight (eating healthy, small portions, personal trainer 3x a week)and when the scale at my home or gym says I've lost and their scale at the office says I've either gained or stayed the same. My appointments are always first thing in the morning, so I haven't even eaten anything yet. I don't know what to do about it cos I don't want the insurance company seeing those weigh-ins and decide they can't cover it. [emoji53]
