What's your water drinking schedule?
Brian B replied to GMen88's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm many months in...but a tip would be to use gas x strips. They help with that painful gas feeling when you drink. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N915A using BariatricPal mobile app -

HELP! Hating all protein shakes
Brian B replied to mxpxchik11's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
pureed meat is so gross .. so I ate eggs .. lots of eggs. the first month is horrible but I remember it breaking the cycle of living to eating vs eating to live. I did have ground beef in a skillet .. brown it up and put a piece of cheese on top! Just remember to take your time eating and chewing very, very well. -
Is a pouch bypass? I choose a sleeve due to the maintenance involved with bypass, plus I felt it was to drastic.

This is going to sound weird but ... Gas X Strips will help with the gas. I realized that before surgery you breath in a lot of air when you drink but after there is only so much space to take in all that at once! Plus I am sure there is swelling. Get some Gas X strips and I hope that will help. Time will fix everything and you wont even remember. Stay Positive, it only gets harder =D

Has Anyone Kept Their Surgery A Secret?
Brian B replied to Dtrain84's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I only told the people I care about. I equate it to women who have twins when they get invetro... It's not as special as natural twins, lol. I dont want my weight loss lessened due to a misconception that weight loss surgery is a magic pill. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N915A using BariatricPal mobile app -
How soon after surgery have you started to smoke?
Brian B replied to BeGood's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I switched to vaping, which isn't for everyone, so if your not ready to quit .. because we all know you can't quit something OR lose weight if your not ready to quit, vaping is so much better than smoking. -
down 216 pounds!
Brian B replied to This-is-my-journey's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
I am at a year this month and have been stalled since my 9 month weight in. I keep saying to myself at least I'm not gaining! I am happy at my current weight but I think another 20 pounds would be perfect. I am sure I will get there. I think that at 9 months the journey starts to move into a reality. We have proven to ourselves that we can mentally and physically lose weight and that "diet" we have been following since the surgery broadens with adding carbs .. pop .. and other normal foods. We all really need to figure out were normal is and realizing the diet is what normal should look like. I am very happy for you Journey! -
I don't use the powder, I use the premade .. maybe make it the night before and let it settle? I also eat the bars but only one a day.

Steven ... I wanted to smack that kid .. the disrespect and dysfunction in that family.. I thought I was watching Maury.

I am pretty sure she was talking to you Berry. If your concerned about carbs there is this great android app called Food by Virtuagym. Its a calorie counter but it will show you carbs/proteins/fats based on your food. I found it very helpful in seeing how much I was taking in .. besides just calories. Good Luck!

What's your water drinking schedule?
Brian B replied to GMen88's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I drink 3 vitamin waters a day. They are 20oz each. One 90 minutes after each meal and try to sneak another one in after I work out. And as mentioned above it will get easier .. the first 1-2 months are a mess when it comes to organizing your consumption. Pretty soon you will be a PRO! -
How do you know when you're full?
Brian B replied to SassyScienceNerd's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I know what you mean about when you are full .. your full and with some discomfort. I try to rely on measuring everything but after a while you kind of start eyeballing everything and can easily go over. How are you measuring your liquids and how much do you drink before you eat? Its like you have to re-learn what you can tolerate ... but its also good to know that your stomach knows when its had enough! -

This might be silly but...I had this problem and tried Miralax...nothing...Dr recommended benafiber...nothing. The thing that seemed to work the best for me was...chewing. 20-30 chews per bite..I know it sounds silly but I haven't had a problem since. Besides eating less than you used to you're probably exercising more than you used to. Your body is changing and adjusting to so many things. Give it time and soon you won't even fit into whatever you trying to fit into now! Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N915A using BariatricPal mobile app

Premier Protein shakes are the best. I have had one for breakfast I think everyday since my surgery. I bought this ninja blender and add ice cubes. Makes the best shake! Keep up the good work!
